Book Club at Museo Camera.

Not only is it a catchy phrase, it's quite the community, too. With over seven hundred members who’ve joined us over the years, our little circle has turned into a close-knit group of friends who find joy in all kinds of stories. Spirited book discussions, insightful author interviews, readings and recitations that made the room go still, and book exchanges where someone found their new favourite: all of it open to anyone who loves a good story.

What warms our hearts the most is who shows up. You’ll find curiosity and excitement in just about anyone who walks in: students and retirees, first-time readers or lifelong bookworms. There’s no “right” way to be a reader here, and no one has to prove that they’ve read enough to belong.

We have too many favourite moments to count, but we’ve compiled some of the most memorable Book Club gatherings at Museo. Have a look, see if you can spot familiar faces, and you might find yourself wishing you’d been there. But don’t worry, that’s easily fixed.

Join our WhatsApp community through the link in bio and you’ll be the first to know about our upcoming discussions, interviews, readings, or book exchanges. You can even swap recommendations and share updates on your current favourites.

Book Club at Museo Camera.

Proof that a love of books belongs to everyone.

We’ll see you at the next gathering!
Who are you bringing? Let us know in the comments!

A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams
This one stayed with me. Blanche’s desperate need to hold on to her illusions, even as reality keeps closing in, was both heartbreaking and unsettling.
It made me think about how unchecked desire can slowly blur our sense of reality—and how painful it can be when the life we imagine collides with the life we actually have.
What stayed with me most was the uncomfortable thought that perhaps, in our own ways, we all create little illusions to survive. And I wonder how much of ourselves we risk losing when reality finally catches up.
Thank you @museo_camera for making me pull out this copy finally from my TBR and read it for the presentation organised by @beetashok

BBNews Book Review | Just an Old Sea Dog and Other Poems

Some books tell stories. Some books take you on a journey. Just an Old Sea Dog and Other Poems by Beetashok Chatterjee does both. ⚓

This beautiful collection brings together poems about the sea, sailors, ships, storms, journeys, memories, love, loss and life. Through simple yet vivid words, the poet creates a world where you can almost hear the waves, feel the wind and imagine life on a ship.

From the loneliness of the ocean to the warmth of human memories, these poems explore many emotions and experiences. It is a thoughtful collection that reminds us that life, much like the sea, is full of calm moments, storms and unexpected journeys.

✨ A book for poetry lovers, sea lovers and anyone who enjoys stories that stay with you.

The adventures of Tom Sawyer and The adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

Recently, I revisited Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and what a wonderful journey back to childhood it turned out to be.
I had read these books as a child, but reading them again now, as a parent, made me see them so differently. They brought back memories of all the naughty little things we did, the mischief we got into, and how convinced we were that our parents would never find out. 😄
And now, having become parents ourselves, we realise something else: our parents probably knew much more than we ever imagined. Sometimes they simply chose to overlook things, giving us the freedom to make our own little mistakes and adventures.
That is what I loved most about revisiting Twain—the innocence, mischief and sheer freedom of childhood are captured so beautifully.

I picked these up again because of James, our Book Club selection at the @museo_camera . And I’m so glad I did. Some books are worth returning to simply to discover how much we have changed since we first read them. ❤️

Which of the books you have read again which you had read in your childhood ?

I was especially excited to unbox this one because it’s exactly the kind of book I’d love to carry with me on a long ride or a little getaway. 📖✨

The kind of book you can open anywhere, read a small poem or two, and simply enjoy the words while watching the world go by. 🌿🚆💭

Sometimes, you don’t need a book that demands all your attention—you just need one that quietly keeps you company while you enjoy the journey. 🤍
