My first-ever CrossFit competition was truly a surreal experience. Being part of the opening ceremony with athletes from around the world, then stepping onto the competition floor, is a moment I’ll cherish forever.

Thank you, Coach Grace, for pushing me beyond what I thought was possible and preparing me for this journey. To my family, friends, and the CrossFit Livermore community—thank you for believing in me and cheering me on every step of the way. And to the wonderful family who welcomed me into their home, thank you for giving me a place to rest, recover, and feel at home during this special weekend.

What an unforgettable weekend. @cf_livermore

Quitting was always an option. They just never took it.
This is what elite looks like when the rules get rewritten and the standard stays the same. 😤

Ability isn’t defined by limitations…..it’s REVEALED BY DETERMINATION. Every athlete has a different path but the finish line is built by PERSEVERANCE. Different bodies. Different journeys. The same UNSTOPPABLE spirit.
🌟❤️Adaptive athletes don’t redefine sport— they redefine what’s POSSIBLE.” ❤️🌟

When opportunity is accessible—excellence has NO LIMITS.

“For while physical training is of some value, Godliness is valuable in EVERY WAY, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”

This is only a glimpse into the love we all have for each other.

Katie Bures, a.k.a. Kay Kay, is a 2X CrossFit Adaptive Games Champion! She is on a mission to 3 peat this year in San Jose, California. She is a faithful child of God and prioritizes her health because her body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It was a joy watching Katie and Jamie work together the whole weekend to get the job done! Katie's biggest ask is that adaptive athletes keep getting the attention they deserve and the opportunities to compete! This interview took place on check in day at the 2025 CrossFit Games in Las Vegas. I believe she ate a big bowl of cereal to celebrate her dominant victory! Good luck Kay Kay, you got this! #adaptive #deafathlete #adapt #crossfit #motivation
