Yesterday I hosted @behindthe.brief first live event! The conclusion of the summer series What the 1L was a live webinar where four panelist (2 current Law Students and 2 Attorneys) spoke about everything from common misconceptions about 1L to how to prepare for your first set of exams. I cannot express how grateful I am to everyone involved in helping bring this webinar to life. Stay tuned to see what else happens Behind the Brief!

Don't be afraid to try new things especially in law school. Your three years in law school present a unique opportunity to dabble in many different areas of law without having to fully commit yourself to that specialty. If you find yourself interested in an area of law, take the class, go to the club meeting, sign up for a clinic. Use your time in law school to your advantage!
Thank you @democrasheorg for allowing me to speak to your future lawyers!

Test anxiety is real in any field. As a law school our finals are anywhere from 80-100% of our grade. Dealing with the weight of one exam determining your future is not unique to the field of law but it does pose extreme pressure to the students working their way toward JD then Esq. Remember "You're are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and more loved than you will ever know" - Whinnie the Pooh. It is okay to take breaks, chat with friends and family and do something that will calm your nerves before resuming your studys. To every student going through finals right now you got this and good luck!

I am so beyond honored to be the 2026-2027 BLSA Academic chair. My entire law school career has been dedicated to not only the pursuit of my own education but in the furtherance of those coming behind me, widening the pathways that were drawn out for me by my mentors. Thank you BLSA community. I hope to make you proud.@behindthe.brief
