POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The work continues. Based on last weeks challenges I backed off a bit on the workout and felt far better post run.

Still did hills and the 12 min pickup but keep it out of the redline.

Have a great Tuesday.

Exciting things are happening inside our historic walls! On Sunday, July 5th at 3:00 PM, Crafted & Cured is transforming the old bank vault room into a live podcast studio. 🎙️🏛️

We are thrilled to play host to the music podcast, Behind the Sound, for a special remote interview session: “Live from the Vault.”

Host Brian Johnson will be sitting down for an exclusive, deep-dive interview with Greenville’s own Americana soul powerhouse, Shannon Clark (of Shannon Clark & the Sugar)!

What to expect:

Pull up a seat, order one of our signature crafted cocktails, grab a pour from one of our 60+ beers, or order one of your favorite charcuterie boards while you watch a live podcast production unfold right in front of you. This is a rare, intimate look at the stories, songwriting, and creative journeys behind the music that has toured nationally and captured hearts across the Midwest.

Come for the incredible drinks and eats, stay for an exclusive look behind the music.

🎟️ Admission: FREE (Seating is first-come, first-served)

Was down in @cityofnewportky this weekend for a music festival, which was amazing. This means I was on the border of KY/OH. I took advantage of the opportunity to run across the @purplepeoplebridge.

I hit it at Sunrise and it was beautiful. If you find yourself in this area, check it out as well as the whole city.

First time running in super high humidity for a while as well as running strides during the workout. I was gassed. But…Mike 🐐 and I have one thing in common.

They always said, “Stand up tall, put your hands on your head, it opens up your lungs!”

Turns out, the coaching police were wrong, and Michael Jordan and I were right all along. 😎
For years, people tried to tell me that leaning over with my hands on my knees after a brutal run wasn’t “effective” recovery. But my body intuitively knew what it was doing—and as it turns out, so did the GOAT.
Science finally caught up to us. A study published in the Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine looked at the hands-on-knees vs. hands-on-head recovery styles. The results? Bending over actually wins by a landslide.

Continuing my “knee-hab” protocol, increased the “time on feet” today slightly from last Tuesday.

Knee continues to feel good even with the increased mileage.

Dr K prescribed working on increasing my cadence. Love the idea, not a fan of how I’m handling it. I’m overthinking the whole thing. Using songs with the cadence is great but then I start singing with the song and suddenly my cadence is off, or is it? Did I step with that drum fill ? Or with the bass line? I may have to go to the metronome or use songs that I don’t know. lol.

Of note, with my run today, I passed my total mileage for all of last month in the first two weeks of this month.

The courthouse was lit up in blue this morning, not sure why but it looked cool. Took a shot from the levee and then a fun shot in front of it.

Super pumped. Got in 7 miles this morning. May not seem like much but it is like night and day from where I’ve been for the last 5 months.

There were weeks I thought I’d never be able to get this far.

Beauty of a morning. Saw plenty of other folks out running as well.

🎶 Three Quarters Away by @paidleavemusic my next guest on @behindthe_sound Catch them Weds night at 7 PM. Great group of guys.
