After being tagged in a few conversations about Burning Man this year, I wanted to share my own experience and perspective from the Playa. Please see the tagged creators and their videos for additional context on IG.

I had a good Burn, and I still believe in what we’re creating out there. Community, participation, volunteering, giving back, and looking out for each other are a big part of what keeps so many of us coming back year after year.

That doesn’t negate the experiences or concerns others have shared. These conversations matter, and I’d love to hear what you think we can do better and what we should be teaching new Burners. #burningman #burningmanfashion

Our vision for the burn this year changed, it went exactly the way it was supposed to leaving our hearts full. We are in full decompression mode while starting planning for 2027.

Two successful events, we ran the BRC Veteran Meetup with the help of @campnycdeli. Over 60 participants joined with the oldest veterans being in their 80’s. Co-founder @justsendit375 spoke about the Mark Pedron Memorial Grant honoring his late father to help bring veterans to burns, veterans of every background shared their stories and connected over the course of the event.

During the meetup, You Are Good Founder @paulalkoby spoke to the @smithsonian about Veteran Advocacy, Burner Culture, and America’s 250th Birthday.

Thursday, veterans and military family members joined @lamplighter_lounge_brc for their procession during the most intense whiteout of the week. Thanks to the incredible coordination by USAF veteran @shanti_prem_g and the Lamplighter team for making this happen. Participants got incredibly dusty while honoring one of the most important Black Rock City traditions.

Additionally we supported an Air Force veteran getting onto playa with a veteran led art installation by Army Veteran @distanceanddust who brought the Black Rock Guidestones.

2026 laid the framework, none of this would be possible without the support from the larger community. )’(
