Can grief be a gift? Hui Sze (@beingwith.grief) gave me a new perspective when we were talking about death on the latest episode of The Usual Place.

Also on the couch were Kethlyn and Alif (@financewithliyandlif) who shared their own experiences with death, and why despite being young, they are already thinking about end-of-life planning.

New episode out now on YouTube! Link in bio!

In our latest wake up call, we hear from Hui Sze, whose father’s terminal cancer diagnosis showed her how little our society talks about death and how ill prepared we are for dying well, even though it’s the one journey we are all on from birth. This process of being with grief and healing, led her to wanting to help others and resulted in the ongoing podcast series called @beingwith.grief. Read her story here.

11 May 2024 | a gentle pace with grief

A beautiful circle made up of 6 different individuals 🌕

Each of us came with a story of our own and yet what makes it so special was the striking similarity of our deep massive love we each carry for our loss - they don’t just stop the day our loved ones breathed their last breath.

I shared in the circle that when I first started ‘A Gentle Pace’, it was my way of honouring Tiffany through a different dimension - because… a cloud never dies. ☁️

When the first seed for this community circle was planted 🌱, I knew I had wanted it to be a place of support to help one another make it through (Yes, we are somehow placed on a grief mission we did not sign up for).

So with a heart full of gratitude, thank you for helping me bring this vision to life:

To Huisze, thank you for embodying a full body ‘yes’ when I first asked you to join me in holding space in this circle, which led to such a seamless collaboration & the birth of our circle name. Thank you Uncle for being her guide so that she can continue to pave this way forward for others so beautifully. @beingwith.grief @hooweesze

To Fanny, thank you for reaching out and offering your beautifully crafted candles - your love for baby Jonas weaved into such a meaningful ritual. @inlovingmemory.sg

To Gary, thank you for being my pillar of strength & to Tiffany, forever and always will, I love you and hope I made you proud in some ways xx

With so much love,

For Community: a gentle pace with grief

Hello everyone,

This coming May, @agentlepace and @beingwith.grief will come together to hold space for the community to meet and journey with grief, as we support one another through reflection prompts and sound healing.

Experiencing loss can feel isolating. To support our collective healing, we hope to come together as a community and heal through witnessing and being witnessed by others.

This community event follows a “pay-as-you-wish” arrangement and only 8 spots are available so that we can guide and support everyone in the circle.

Registration link is now available via QR code and in our bio links.

Till we connect, grieve well & take care.

Sophia & Huisze
