POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We dug into the archives a little bit….

Unseen camcorder footage taken during our first media day for our first Y-U cohort back in January. Little to no concept, a little studio room in Dalston with terrible lighting and no space…

Since then, we’ve made some adjustments. We can’t wait to reveal our Youth-Unlocked Art Cohort 003 in a few weeks.

Youth-Unlocked is taking a short summer break.

Five months ago, we launched Youth-Unlocked with a campaign that introduced not only our vision and mission, but also sparked a conversation around the barriers that continue to exist within the modern creative industry.

Since then, we’ve had the privilege of building something truly special together. Across four exhibitions, we’ve seen artists, collaborators, partners, volunteers and audiences come together to create experiences that would not have been possible without this community.

To everyone who has attended a show, supported an artist, partnered with us, or contributed to the program in any way….thank you. Your belief in this mission has helped shape everything we’ve achieved so far.

As we look ahead, Youth-Unlocked will be taking a two-month summer break while we prepare for the next chapter. We have exciting announcements on the way, including the full reveal of Cohort 003 in the art medium.

We still have a few spotlights to cover but for now, thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. @myraajones @felixall3n @abdallah.ebbo @jasperbinns @livgracedavis_art @bellaabacon @joesookias @georgiadaisybrown @seb.m.a @ralphyforever @isaac.whitfield @fredobel_ @studio.two.point @society.exclusive

Sam Nati decided a ‘DIY’ attitude is the way forward. He founded ‘Youth unlocked’ just last year and has been hosting intimate exhibitions to platform creatives breaking through the industry.

He keeps tickets at less than a tenner a show, making it easy for people to support new talent. They’ve started off with art shows and will be diving into screenings and music performances later in the year.

Tickets to the next show are on Outr 🔗📱And if you’re an emerging creative drop Sam a message! 👀

Leading Emerging Venue in London

Securing a venue in London presents a considerable challenge, particularly for new ventures. While the circumstances surrounding our discovery of Studio TwoPoint were notably coincidental, the choice has proven to be exceptional. Located in the heart of East London, Studio TwoPoint is rapidly establishing itself as a vital pillar and establishment within its community. For those seeking to host an event, utilize a co-working cafe or conduct photoshoots for branding or portfolio development, this location is highly recommended. Furthermore, we recognize and appreciate the dedication of the venue manager, @georgiadaisybrown , for believing in our vision and actively supporting these young creatives.

We are also pleased to announce the extension of our collaboration with @studio.two.point for the upcoming exhibitions scheduled within Cohort 002. Further details will be disseminated shortly.

Through the lens of Sebastian Melendez Acosta

As this first cohort comes to an end we would like to give our extensive thanks to the amazing Seb! This program is as much about the people in front of the camera as it is about the people behind it. Here is a selection by @seb.m.a, of his favourite shots that he took throughout the Youth-Unlocked cohort 001.
