She’s so extra..🫣..I love her💚🖤

Inspired by black hellebores this giant fabric flower has had a glow up.

Long story short I was inspired to have a go at fabric flowers from some other paper flower artists ..Thank you @intheflowermood and @littlepaperflowerwarrior for the encouragement.

Watched a couple of YouTube tutorials and it was off to the fabric store.
Made from 4 layers of fabric,petals are glued and hand stitched to florist wire, wooden beads and sparkles for stamens, battery operated lights, florist wire, styrofoam ball for centre and a lot of 🤔🤬😅😮‍💨
Why fabric and not paper you may wonder. Well I need to take these on the road with me and my roadie (aka husband) is practical not delicate and paper would just get wrecked. I’m hoping these will be more robust going in and out on car trips and market setups. Iykyk 😬.

Dynastes Hercules or just Hercules beetle..

Oh how I tried to give up but you wouldn’t let me. You tested me but I pushed on and here we are Hercules , finished but maybe not the final version.
Made from crepe paper, wool fibres cause I love his fluffy details hiding under his hard exterior, wire and acrylic paint.
Swear words were muttered and I came close to throwing him in the bin but here we are a starting point of something I hope to build on..

You can call me Queenie.. 🐝

Queen of the bees.. 🐝

I had some bees left from a recent project and decided they needed a crown because who doesn’t want to be Queen for a day or two..
Made from paper,wool,faux fur,and some sparkly bits,hand painted.
So time consuming but worth it. Sometimes I’m absolutely positive that I am completely nuts🤪 with the amount of effort and time I put into my work. I wonder if others notice. 🤔 Anyhow I’m happy she’s done and I hope she brings a smile to you you.

Demoplantisicus…Demo Flytrap

Can’t claim This an original idea. I originally saw a fantastic drawing by @tenchii.art earlier this year who was challenged by @heavymentalartist to draw one of his amazing creations in their own style.

It’s taken me three goes to get it right for me. You can see my original workings at the end. They are fails for different reasons. .
There have been many artworks inspired by a Demogorgon but one that takes on a plant form will always challenge my brain to give it a try. Check out the original artists to see their amazing artworks.

Back with another bee..a mini version of the big version..
long story short it was actually meant to be to size of a real bee but the sausage fingers threatened to go on strike so we made one some what bigger. At least you don’t have to strain your eyes to see the details.
It’s taken me a while to work out how to replicate the exact same details (well almost) Nearly a week of pondering. In the end some techniques have been done in the reverse of the big bee I made recently and some details are slightly different but I think they could be distant cousins..😅

Made from paper,acrylic paint,wool fuzz,plastic wings , glue and wire and a bit of sweat and no tears this time..
