If you think Mat Pilates is the "easy" option, Joseph Pilates would like a word. 🧐

Let’s be honest… our mat Pilates classes have been pretty quiet lately.

Don’t get us wrong, we absolutely love seeing our Reformer studio busy and our yoga classes full! Reformer and yoga are incredible, we know! But many studios are dropping mat Pilates altogether because it’s just not as popular. We think mat Pilates is awesome, and it absolutely still deserves a seat at the table.

So why the empty mats? Maybe there’s a view that if you aren't on a machine, you aren't getting your money’s worth. Or maybe you think the reformer is "advanced" and the mat is just for beginners?

Joseph Pilates designed the Reformer to support, guide, and assist the body. On the mat, you have zero help. Your own body weight and gravity are the sole resistance. Your core has to work super hard to stabilize and control every single movement. It is the ultimate test of pure strength.

We teach our mat Pilates classes slowly, with intention, control, and plenty of options. Is it a bit repetitive sometimes? Sure. That's exactly how you build endurance. We aren't magic. You have to do the work, but we’ll be right there with you.

🗓 Mat Pilates at Village:
✨ Friday | 7:10am
✨ Sunday | 7:00am

Ideally we want to add another 1 or 2 mat Pilates classes to the weekday schedule, but maybe these current times just don’t suit you and we need to rethink a bit? Tell us what times would work in the comments, send us a DM, or honestly… just start showing up! 😉

The first Bella Barry charity Pilates event was a success! I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who came down on Saturday to take my class and raise money for @pencilsofpromise ⭐ Thanks to you all, children across the world will have access to quality education that they wouldn’t have had before, and that means everything. We have raised £324 so far and the donation link will stay open if there is anyone else that wants to contribute.

As well as the attendees, I have to thank @andsoulsanctuary for letting us use your beautiful space, @lolas_cupcakes @loveself.uk and @virtuedrinks for donating treats and @vistaprintuk for our custom notebooks that the attendees got to take home.

It was a beautiful afternoon and hopefully the first of many to come 💗

Some behind the scenes at BTA this past weekend. Three exhausting but exhilarating sessions over two days, where our girls all showcased not only their incredible talents, but more importantly bonded together in sweet support of one another. I could not be more proud of them!

It’s been 3 years since I took a leap of faith and put everything I had on the line to build an aerial studio. And today marks our two year anniversary of the very first official class. And holy moly it’s been a ride!
To every single person who braved the cold and the heat and the bugs to come to class when I had no walls and no windows. To all the incredible people who comment on every small improvement I manage to make to our space. To the wonderful humans who make our studio the special place it is. Thank you! I quite literally couldn’t do it without you 💛

I became Bella’s coach in 2016 and have had the absolute joy of front row seats as she evolved both as an aerialist and as a human. Today she turned 18!!! And god that makes me feel old!!
Luckily some things don’t change… from the day I met her to this very moment, Bella continues to be an overachieving perfectionist with her foot firmly planted on the accelerator. She has HUGE dreams with plans to match and an indomitable will. I’m so thankful for the honour of being her coach and her aerial mama, and I can’t wait to see what she makes of this life! ✨

Happiest of birthdays @isabellabarryaerialist xx

Just a little happy birthday, fair well and appreciation post to this beautiful girl.

For the past many years of my life this gorgeous girl has been my rock, my sole mate and of course my best friend. We have both seen each other at our worst and at our bests.
I have so many amazing and unforgettable memories with this gorgeous girl I will forever cherish. I am so excited for her to take on her journey now that she has been planning for a long time and to see her thrive in her elements, definitely gutted she is leaving but I know it’ her time now and can’t wait to see the adventures she takes on.

Thank you for being the best duo partner I could ever ask for being in some very up close and personal position and just always there to lift me up when I needed, thank you for just being my best friend, I could never ask for anyone better I love you more than words can explain and it’s your time now girl, time for you to shine. Love you bitch 🤩🤩
