@bellpineportland at @ritzcarltonportland has the perfect setup to start your night: incredible views, delicious bites, cocktails and wine, and service that goes above and beyond.

Their Golden Hour menu is available daily from 3–5 PM, and it’s been so popular they’re extending it through November! 🙌

We tried every food item on the menu:
• Garlic Parmesan Fries — $7
• Chili Garlic Wings — $14
• Baby Romaine Caesar Salad — $15 (we added chicken for an additional charge)
• Prime Rib Burger — $20
• Crispy Albacore Tuna Tacos — $23

A friend of mine came to Oregon to die recently.

Before she did, we drove through the Gorge with the sunroof open and Supertramp up, watched the koi at the Japanese Garden, and shared one last lobster dinner at Bellpine.

Her one regret was that she had not experienced more joy.

So here is the reminder, mostly to myself: do not postpone joy.

Happy hour just hits different 20 floors above Portland. ✨

I was invited to @bellpineportland inside The Ritz-Carlton Portland to experience their Golden Hour, and between the food and those sweeping views of the city, this felt like such a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Golden Hour happens daily from 3–5 PM and features special pricing on drinks and bites. Right now, Chef de Cuisine Jocelyn Chacón is bringing her Mexican heritage together with seasonal Pacific Northwest ingredients, which made this menu even more fun to try.

Here’s everything we tried:

🍷 Pinot Gris
🥬 Baby Romaine Salad
🍔 Prime Rib Burger
🧀 Charcuterie Board

And now I already have a reason to go back because I NEED to try the Crispy Albacore Tuna Tacos. 🌮

During this Hispanic Heritage month, Bellpine Chef de Cuisine Jocelyn Chacón honors her Mexican heritage through culinary storytelling.

Using fresh Pacific Northwest ingredients and flavors influenced from her culture, Chef Jocelyn creates colorful and flavorful dishes at the 20th floor restaurant & bar at the Ritz Carlton Portland.

She shared historic family photos that remind her of the generations of storytellers who came before her in this KOIN Northwest Grown story.

Her albacore tuna tacos are on the new happy hour called Golden Hour, 3-5pm daily. A series of Hispanic Oregon winemakers are also being highlighted during Hispanic Heritage month, which is September 15-October 15.

CHEF IN THE MARKET | September 20th | Jocelyn Chacón Chef de Cuisine of Bellpine, The Ritz-Carlton

Born in Mexico, Jocelyn brings the ingredients, techniques, and traditions of her upbringing to a culinary career shaped by Italian, Mediterranean, and Asian kitchens. At Bellpine, she brings those influences together with ingredients from local farmers and producers to create food that is bold, seasonal, and rooted in the Pacific Northwest.

For Chef in the Market, Jocelyn will prepare her interpretation of a traditional Oaxacan tetela, made with blue corn masa from Three Sisters Nixtamal and filled with huitlacoche, squash blossom, and Oregon-made Don Froylan cheese, finished with pipián verde.

At the heart of the dish is the milpa—corn becomes masa and gives us huitlacoche, while squash provides both the blossoms and the seeds that form the foundation of the pipián.

For Jocelyn, the dish is a conversation between Mexican agricultural traditions and the Oregon ingredients and producers surrounding her today.
