First quarter of the year feeling warm and sunny, even when it’s not, thanks to my silly little goose ☀️

Too hard to pick pics in any way that actually recaps the year (I’ve been trying for days) so all I’ll say is that we’re happiest when outside! Warm or cold, sunny or cloudy, at home or away. Happy new year, may we all get the fresh air we need.

It’s fitting that Mother’s Day rounds out Mara’s birthday week: I’m not me without her. When Mara came into the world, everything changed and everything fell into place.

It’s impossible to reflect on the last year with any coherence other than the fact that my brain has been fundamentally re-wired and loving her – her whines and whimpers, her smiles and laughs, her sweet smell and soft body – is in my bones.

I’m the mama I am thanks to the one who brought me here, and the blessing of watching Mara love and trust her Teta so wholly is not lost on me.

We are so loved by so many, and our thanks is to love in return.
