🎯 FROM HUNGERFORD PRIMARY TO THE NATIONAL STAGE! 🇬🇧

We’re shining the spotlight on one of our former pupils, Ben East, whose incredible journey in athletics is giving us plenty to celebrate! 🌟

Ben has gone from his school days in Hungerford to becoming a leading British javelin thrower. 🥇 He became British Senior Champion in 2023, has represented Great Britain internationally, and continues to compete at the highest level. In 2026, Ben achieved a personal best of 80.49 metres and earned his place at his first Commonwealth Games! 👏

Alongside his sporting career, Ben is studying Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University, showing the dedication, determination and hard work it takes to pursue ambitions both on and off the field. 💪📚

At Hungerford Primary School, we believe every child has the potential to achieve great things. Ben’s journey is a fantastic reminder that big dreams can start right here in our local community! ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Ben’s achievements and follow his continued success. Who knows what the next generation of Hungerford Primary pupils will go on to achieve? ✨

Once part of our school, always part of our story! 💙

What a day at CWG26, kicked off by my man @joel_mcfarlane00 in his Commonwealth Games debut in day 1 of the Men’s Decathlon. Proud pal moment watching you today mate, honoured to have shared the track with you over the years and can’t wait for day 2 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This was followed by the Men’s Jav Qualifying where the headwind was probably the worst I’ve ever felt at a competition and the results showed with only a handful of throwers over 80m, one being @beneast_ with his 2nd furthest throw ever to make the final on his CWG debut, well done mate 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Finally got the chance to watch some of my favourite throwers in competition and meet some too @goldenwalcott 🇹🇹 @cam_mcentyre 🇦🇺 @juliuskyego 🇰🇪 @k3yshawnn 🇧🇸 and @douw__smit 🇿🇦

I love my sport.
