Had an unforgettable experience premiering our short film “Main Character” at @hollyshorts film festival! What a privilege it was to watch not only our short film on the big screen, but so many amazing films made by so many amazing filmmakers. I’m so grateful that I was able to make this film with such amazing friends, and watching it with them and so many other loved ones in a theater as historic as the Chinese Theater was incredible.

Lake and I can help you put a hex on your ex ✨ On Sunday night @lakebell and I co-hosted one of her infamous ‘Auction of Nothing’ events at @emilehaynie’s space to raise much needed funding for the @15percentpledge. So… what is ‘nothing’ you ask? Just things you can give, things from your heart, or things from the depth of your imagination.

So much love to all of my friends for coming out and not just to the big splashy things but to the small intimate extra special things. It means more to me than you know. And an extra special thank you to the incredible people on the other side of the country that chipped in to match all of the donations in the room. It’s easy to show up when the work is in favor. It’s the realest ones who show up when it’s been banned. Love you all to the moon and back. We get through this, we create change, only through community.

Lake and I will see you in New York!!!!

And ps. Thank you to @voguemagazine for covering and @yolamezcal @loonenwater @discocubes @baloorozco @johnniewalker for helping make the night so special.

In 2009, I was working with @benjaminbronfman and @ssglicken for the label Green Owl Records. Ben approached me and asked if I wanted to do a remix for @thexx “islands” and I had the honor of having this beautiful tune be my first ever release for the label. I sent it to my good friend Doctor Echo to do the final mix and I am still proud of it to this day. It is available on my SoundCloud now.

I was introduced to @kingsvillevisualsgallery by @benjaminbronfman in 2024 and late in the year we all took an amazing trip to Tanzania together to work on an art project. By early 2025 Rufai and agreed to do a series for his YouTube channel under the same name as his instagram handle. It is so inspiring to work with someone who is extremely creative and talented plus they have a very strong work ethic. We made a series of films in a short period of time and every moment was a pleasure because I was completely inspired by his work. I picked one of my favorites to showcase here and it is titled “Introspect IV” directed by @r_u_f_a_i with sound design and music by @chllngr and modelling by @trex_360td

Seeing @jayz ’s first time ever performing at the @rootspicnic Picnic took me straight back to my first time on that stage with The Very Best ( @johan.hugo.music @esaumwamwaya @secousse.radio in 2010 rocking the same stage with
@wutangclan (@ghostfacekillah, @raekwon, methodman) @clipse @vampireweekend @johnlegend That Philly vibe + energy was nuts!
Damn, @questlove is a beautiful soul, deep researcher, sharp critic & gifted writer holding it down for the culture. Full circle moments like this remind me why we do it. shout out to @benjaminbronfman (Greenowl records)
Grateful.

In April of 2005 @asianmanrecords released my first “solo” project @satoridubstyle. In my opinion it wasn’t necessarily a solo project becuase over the years I had over 50 collaborators in different continents. This first album was super special though. It was all recorded in @karenembree garage in Seal Beach and engineered, produced and mixed by @matthewembree. I had most of the members of @rxbanditsofficial and our touring brothers The Exit as well as @chrismurraymusic help me with this album. We have a special announcement soon regarding the release and listening back to the album now i am so glad that @matthewembree helped me out with this project and introduced me to the almighty Tascam 388! This record was done solely with this machine and has a very distinctive sound becuase of it!
