Alton Mason @altonmason has made a career out of turning movement into manifestation. Since exploding onto the scene a decade ago, the West Coast native has become fashion’s consummate performer: making history as the first Black male model to walk for Chanel, earning Models.com’s Model of the Year title five years in a row, and starring in countless luxury campaigns, all while expanding into acting and dance with the same magnetic ease. Caught by @columbinegoldsmith just before @gucci’s New York show premiere, Mason trades the runway for a delightfully unhinged reality show of his own making. Part The Real World, part wellness retreat, part fever dream, he’s searching for inner peace, the perfect candle, and, above all else, someone who knows how to use a steamer. Thank you @byt.nyc for an unforgettable 8 years of directing + editing !! Today I start a new chapter as a comedy director — the way of the free agent. But first, a brief retrospective 🥹 My career journey with Bryght Young Things began as a freelance editor in the fall of 2018 — and I was totally clueless just how meaningful our blossoming collaboration would become. 4 months, 5 edit gigs, 17 bowls of spicy vegan ramen, and 1,629 oat milk cold brews later, the collab expanded into comedy directing as Daniel and Steve took a chance by inviting me to join the BYT roster in 2019. HEART-SHAPED IRIS TRANSITION TO: EXT. HERE – NOW 💗 I am verklempt with overwhelming gratitude for the hits, the misses, the hustle, the flow, the challenges, the easiness, the short hand, the long bits, and (above all) the community of amaaazing people, exceptional talent, repeat collaborators, and forever homies perpetually within BYT’s orbit. Thank you so much for playing crucial roles in my story as a comedy directory thus far. To the core four during my tenure — Daniel, Steve, Chelsea, and Lucas — thank you for your radical support, motivation, guidance, honesty, and friendship. I enter this next chapter honored, proud, obliged, excited, a little sweaty, kinda hungry, and very much ready — all thanks to your leadership and trust. Here’s to the types of chances that emerge only after a chance is chanced 🤝 Peace + Love, RS 🫡

It's my birthday today so I'm celebrating it by giving a shout out to all the wonderful people I've collaborated with over this past year. I'm honored to work with so many talented and creative people whom I also consider good friends. I'm also grateful for the support I get from my loved ones (special shoutout @drshivanakrishnan). I just hope I get to keep making cool things with my friends and not forced to churn out AI celebrity slop for the hologram children of oligarchs.
