Benji Bower An Immersive Midsummer Sound Journey saturday 27th june 7.30 - 9.30 We feel incredibly fortunate to welcome acclaimed composer and sound artist Benji Bower to "To the Waters and the Wild" . Renowned for creating deeply evocative and immersive musical experiences, his work spans contemporary composition, sound design and collaborative performance. As daylight lingers over the land, Benji will weave cinematic landscapes, jazz-infused wanderings and ambient textures into a one-off performance shaped by the moment, the place and the people gathered there. A rare midsummer offering from an artist whose work continues to resonate with audiences far beyond these shores.

2026 You Beauty Part Deux Here's some more shenanigans from 2026 so far. Playing banjo for @aaronrowe__ alongside @tadhgwp in the amazing @connollysofleap Keeping the throne warm for @dermotsheedy on some gigs with @gearoidmccarthymusic and his incredible band. Getting to butcher a drum solo with @fergalscahillmusic was mighty craic! Recording drums for some beautiful @paddydennehy tracks with the lads. My first recording session with producer extraordinaire @kealan_kenny_guitar was magical A @pinethepilcrow reunion as part of @conservatory_sessions_donegal I forgot how much our rehearsals were filled with tears of laughter. These gigs are always so special, and even more so for getting to do it with people I love. A mammoth of a gig with @dannylanhammusic at the helm as our fearless leader. He whipped us into shape for a @tradfolkinrocks gig featuring @annieecheevers _dyrt_ @strangeboyeriu @is_mise_hazey A drum pic for all the gear heads Headlining @ballydehobjazzfestival with the inimitable @benjibower and the magnificent @blythepepino This was such a beautiful gig and food for the soul. It really takes a village to put something like this together. And Ballydehob is that village! Thanks to everyone for all the music so far. 2026 truly has been beautiful and I can't wait for more music shenanigans. Grá mór x

Worked on something really special last year. Co - Composer and Additional Sound design for @bradfordcultureco One of largest project I’ve worked on to date. A team of over 100 people came together in a park in Bingley. 10,000 people watched over two nights. Dan and Emily Lim dreamed this up from the start. The team at @bradfordcultureco trusted them every step of the way. Over 200 cast members gave everything. Heart, skill, commitment, courage. Absolute legends. Projects like this don’t come around often. 🎶 BJF26 🎶 is both a celebration and a homecoming. “It’s all about the friendships formed in this artistic and creative community. Over twenty festivals we’ve seen musicians, artists and audiences come together in Ballydehob to create something very special. This year is a gathering of the best of what has come before — a celebration of the music, the creativity and the people who made it all happen.” Joe O Leary Festival Creative Director @levis_corner_house_ballydehob The Festival Hall will host five special concerts across the weekend. Highlights include:     •    The Paul Dunlea Quintet presenting ‘Loch Trasna Suite’ an original piece commissioned by @ballydehobjazzfestival. Catalan singer-songwriter Lau Noah will open the night.     •    Olivier Award-winning composer Benji Bower premieres a newly commissioned work created specially for the 20th Ballydehob Jazz festival, titled ‘Trasnaíocht’ The piece explores migration, crossing and the meaning of home through a genre-crossing performance blending jazz, chamber music, spoken word, aerial movement and dance.     •    Piano Virtuoso Stephanie Nilles returns to Ballydehob with her fearless piano, sharp wit, and genre-blending songs that move between jazz, folk, and soul. She is joined by multi-instrumentalist Thomas Deakin, whose adventurous musicianship brings a vibrant and playful musical conversation to the stage.     •    Late-night club sessions will swing into the small hours with festival favourites Canibal Dandies (France), @mrdonaldineen, guest DJs & Dancers and The Blue Mockingbirds (Belgium), where audiences can dance the night away in the festival club. 🎷 Tickets On Sale - www.ballydehobjazzfestival.org #bjf26 #homecoming #ballydehob #westcork BJF26 30th April to 4th May 2026 BJF26 is supported by @artscouncilireland @pure_cork @corkcountycouncil @cullyandsully @crespofoundation @macivorscider & Ballydehob Village Community
