Day 1 of our Peruvian journey: Lima. 🇵🇪

It isn’t lost on me that we began this adventure with @widowstravel, and that I was able to bring @bennett_studios_ along for the travel days.

I keep thinking back to last year, when I made my way to Guatemala alone, armed with about 20 words of Spanish and a whole lot of nerves. So much has changed since then.

Traveling with the kids has become one of the most healing gifts in the wake of losing @saminthewoods. Every trip reminds us that even after loss, there is still beauty to discover, joy to share, and memories waiting to be made together.

The past week marked four years without @saminthewoods, which still feels impossible to fully grasp.

But somewhere along the way, we’ve shifted from simply surviving to intentionally seeking out joy and moments of real happiness. That doesn’t take away the loss—it just means we’re learning how to carry it differently.

@bennett_studios_ shows up every single day with love, patience, and care for our kids and for me, while still honoring everything that makes our family ours. And that means more than I can fully put into words. (Photos are from the past weekend where Grace crushed Camelback Mountain and Nolan had a grand adventure on the Verde, and an old photo of Sam and Nolan fishing in Nevada)
