‘LiveStream’, data-projection on Thomastown Lutheran Church, commissioned by City of Whittlesea for Walking Thomastown Sat 29 August 2026 by artist @bennettalison Edgars Creek once supported complex thriving communities of aquatic life. What are our hopes for the future of this precious waterway? This moving-image artwork features native fish species endemic to our region. Come together for one night in August along the banks of Edgars Creek in Lalor as part of the annual Walking Thomastown event. This year, visitors will experience larger-than-life encounters with fish looking back at them. Jaye Burton, Vice President of Native Fish Australia (Vic) and manager of NFA’s hatchery in Bundoora explains ‘because we rarely see native fish when we look at our waterways, they are often forgotten - but they are fundamental to the health of our aquatic environments. These creatures have long called our creeks home, and we owe it to them to restore these habitats so they can return.” Malcolm Wrest from Lalor Landcare recalls, “I routinely walked along the banks of Edgars Creek down to Thomastown High School where I studied in the seventies, the last years of the Whitlam Government and the early years of AC/DC. In those days, the creek was paid very scant attention. Today I am still walking the creek, planting trees and advocating for a thriving future for this waterway.” @nativefishaustralia @citywhittlesea

Today, I'm reaching out with a humble request. Right now, our biggest struggle is simply putting food and clean drinking water on the table. Every day is a challenge, and we are doing our best to get through these difficult circumstances. We are trying to raise $200 to provide food and other basic necessities for my family. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to having enough to eat and gives us hope during this difficult time. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this message with others. Your kindness, support, and prayers mean more than words can express. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God bless you for your compassion and generosity.

Happy 19th birthday Delilah. Here’s 19 random photos from that time, all courtesy of my very extensive iPhone gallery. I’ll say more on your 20th, but for now I’m tucked up on the couch with a red wine reminiscing on the last almost two decades. Somewhere in these photos is the original sketch of our very first logo, drawn by Lizzie Lamb in my kitchen while I was doing her hair. Funny how the biggest things sometimes begin in the smallest, most random moments.

We had the absolute privilege of being able to support our very own Jason and Coach @pourya.moradi7 at the @wrestling.victoria State Championship. Jason had two very tough matches in which he got many technical points, and had pinning positions against each of his opponents, showing great improvement from his previous tournaments. Coach Pourya gave onlookers a master class in Greco-Roman wrestling, finishing one of his matches with extremely quick double 5-pointers! Also big props to @bennettalison for these awesome photos, @cypru.sian for tirelessly refereeing across the whole weekend, @vb.overthere for supporting the event as Wrestling Victoria's secretary to run smoothly, and @joshuarotin for volunteering his time for the event. The competition was a great celebration of the best competitive wrestling in the state, and we hope that more people feel confident enough to take on the challenge of competition!
