Some highlights from our Dahlias & Donuts Class today include gorgeous dahlias from @choosingcalm and fresh apple cider donuts from @bennisonsbakery

Learning some flower math and new skills with the instruction of Lanie. Creating playful fall arrangements was the perfect way to kick-off October.

Meet our star-student, Etta. She takes her shop-dog duties very seriously.

Students created beautiful fall arrangements with the help of Lanie. We practiced the golden mean, color theory and using a Hydrangea as the floral mechanic.

Every arrangement needs a little movement. In this case dancing flowers and Dahlias became the star of the show.

Evanston is a great choice for a fall day outside of the city. It’s a 15-minute trip on the Metra and easily walkable or bikeable if you prefer. They have DIVVY bikes, or you can take your bike on the Metra.

We enjoyed a relaxing day of shopping and browsing through their eclectic mix of shops. There were lots of opportunities to purchase original art and handmade goods from local artists.

the best part of a tuesday is stopping by the farmer’s market. here are some of my favorites in chicago:

@nicholsfarmandorchard produce- especially their sweet corn just makes any summer dinner more delicious

@bennisonsbakery my current weekly repeat is the glazed croissant but their baguettes and pretzel bread are also 👨🏻‍🍳💋

@ellisfamilyfarms berries & stone fruits & HONEY - we don’t skimp on picking up local honey for those allergies, honey 🍯

@gaylesbestever grilled cheese, pretty much every time I’m getting a classic with ham but you do you

i love shopping local when i can & supporting the growers near us who care for our communities. also shoutout to my lovely coworker who grabbed me a lil bouquet this morning 💐🫶
