Because we have free will and - also because it happens to be National Pizza Month, we linked up with @34thdegreewinemerchant to host a pizza/wine pairing party - powered by @gozney and a host of other amazing local producers and businesses (@mountainviewartisanal coming through with that amazing pizza dough and fresh burrata). This is your sign to get the crew together, fire up the pizza oven and get in some amazing wines ✨🍷🍕

And then, October was here. The start of the fall season, a time to rest and reflect as the natural world starts to slow its pace. The month brings a very special type of light to the farm, especially in the mornings and provides the perfect coolness for morning walks and evenings making s’mores around the fire. One of our favorites here at Atlas - and the perfect month for a restful, restorative cabin getaway 🍃✨🍂 photos: @matt_hildreth

We’re calling it. Fall has officially arrived in the north Georgia mountains. While we’re sad to say goodbye to summer, there’s just something about this place in the autumn that can’t be beaten. So cozy up, throw that Dolly Parton record on and lean into perfect cabin-in-the-woods season 🍂🍃🍁

Not to mention the ducks and several thousand honeybees that also call Atlas home... A stay at Atlas always includes the option to meet, feed and pet our wonderfully kooky cast of four (and two) legged friends!

Excuse us for getting a little ✨spiritual✨ for a second but the vibe shift at this time of year feels pretty special. The gentle segue from summer into fall is unmistakable and one of our favorite times here on the farm - everything feels a little slower and easier. Lots of great summer memories to reflect on as we turn towards the cozier months of the year!

There’s something really special about what Ted and Ben have created at Atlas in Ellijay, but I think what makes it special starts with the two of them.

Ted and Ben are two of the kindest, most intentional people, and you feel that in everything they do - the way they welcome you, the stories they tell, and the genuine care they’ve put into creating a place where people can come together and somehow feel right at home.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was getting to document them as they prepared for an al fresco dinner with their friends from @34thdegreewinemerchant . Tagging along as they brought their own personality and flair to the evening was such a gift, especially getting to see everyone end the night around a table together. And much to my daughter’s joy, there were s’mores on the deck afterward!

And then there were the mornings on the farm. 🐓

“Farmer Ted” and “Farmer Ben,” as Alice now calls them, showed her the ropes - putting her to work with the animals and letting her get right into learning the process of growing and gathering food.
There was something really special about watching her experience that. Getting dirty, helping, and seeing the hard hard work behind the beautiful things we get to eat and experience. And if you know me, you know I was enthralled by all of it. 📝

Every part of Atlas feels intentionally considered. The interiors are stunning, but it’s the stories behind everything that really got me - pieces collected from Ted and Ben’s travels, little details with meaning, things that make you stop and ask, “Where did this come from?” or “Why did you choose this?” The whole place feels like a reflection of the life they’ve built together.

But I think that’s what made the trip so memorable for us.
It wasn’t just that we stayed somewhere beautiful.
We got to slow down. Enjoy nature. Work and play, eat really well, sit around a fire, meet wonderful people, laugh a lot, and let our daughter experience a completely different rhythm for a few days.

It felt like we were invited into someone else’s world for a little while - and I’m so grateful we were.

Thank you, Ted and Ben!

Did you know that a stay at Atlas isn’t ✨just✨a stay at Atlas. We have over forty acres of private farmland and offer all guests the option to meet the other residents of the farm - alpacas, goats, ducks, chickens, pigs and an adorable mini donkey called Gilbert. Just one of the reasons why Atlas is so much more than just a rental cabin in the mountains 🦙🐐🫏
