POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some stories get told. Others get uncovered. 🎙️

I'm proud to share that I've had the privilege of co-hosting UNCOVERED the Podcast alongside the incredible team at @beonecollective.au

UNCOVERED makes space for the voices we don't often hear. Behind the headlines, statistics and data are real people who rarely get a seat at the table, even when the decisions being made are about their lives.

Season 1 explores community saftey and violence from a First Nations lens. We sit down with the people living it and share honest conversations about what's really happening and what needs to change.

I'm so grateful to everyone who trusted us with their stories.

Special shoutout to the crews at @dvlx.media @smooth.autofocus and @opn.community for the incredible production work! 🙌🏽

Like, share and follow @uncovered_the_podcast to watch the episodes as they drop.

"Violence is violence."

Here in Western Sydney, we experience high numbers of violence. Yet we keep minimising it by calling it bullying, harassment or even say "you're overthinking it" because there was no physical harm.

Safety is feeling accepted in the space you're in, no matter how you present, without fearing physical or emotional harm at the end of any conversation or interaction.

When we downplay harm, we make it harder to name, harder to address and harder to prevent.

💬 Have you ever had harm brushed off because it "wasn't physical"?

We talk about:
🔸 The difference between safety and violence
🔸 How culture, kinship and connection protect us
🔸 Why early intervention, led by community, is the real solution

This is lived experience, not the official narrative.

BIG NEWS 🖤💛❤️

I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve been selected to head across the ocean to Aotearoa as part of the Cross Cultures, Cross Oceans program.

An opportunity to sit, listen and learn with Māori mob, to share our own Indigenous knowledges, stories, language and culture and to build connections between our peoples that stretch far beyond the ocean between us.

For me, this is bigger than just travelling to another country. It’s about carrying my people and my Country with me.

Learning from another ancient culture while sharing pieces of our own. Listening to their stories. Sharing ours. Finding the similarities, respecting the differences and bringing that knowledge home to our community and our young ones.

Our cultures have survived because knowledge was shared.

Aotearoa, I’m coming. 🌊 #fyp #culture #aboriginal #maori #knowledge

Hands can destroy.
Hands can build.

They can push away, or pull someone closer.
They can carry burdens, wipe away tears, teach, protect, and heal.

At this retreat, I found myself drawn to the quiet moments. No faces needed. Just hands working together, creating together, learning together.

Sometimes the strongest connection isn’t seen in expressions. It’s found in the simple act of reaching out.
