What a joyous moment to witness! 🎉 Congratulations to Centro de Acceso para Latinos de Alabama (@calatinx) in Birmingham, Alabama, on the ribbon cutting and unveiling of their new space! Celebrating Executive Director Jean Hernandez, Pablo Hernandez, Cindy Garcia, Joan Ramos, and the entire CALA team for the heart, dedication, and care they bring to their work and the communities they serve. 🌟 We have had the privilege of knowing and working with Jean for many years, and we are overjoyed to see her vision for CALA come to life. May this space be a place of belonging, hope, and connection, where Latinx and immigrant communities feel welcomed, supported, and thrive. ❤️ 💛

Who’s funding community care in the South? During my conversation with Freda Jones, also known as “The Condom Lady,” we talk about HIV education in the South, the stigma that makes this work difficult, and the funding barriers facing Black women-led and Black queer-led organizations. From distributing condoms at her salon to co-founding @lotus.atlanta, Freda continues to show up for her community. Community-led efforts need investment, and organizations like the @beourcompass help make this work possible by supporting those doing it. Follow @lotus.atlanta to learn more about Freda’s work through LOTUS. Thank you to @beourcompass for continuing to partner with Garden of Intention to uplift community-led HIV education and help challenge stigma across the South. 🫶🏾

Tracing Transformation isn’t just telling the story of COMPASS @beourcompass Initiative — the IMPACT tells the story. ❤️ At USCHA @nmachiv I talked with Dr. Demi McCoy to learn about what COMPASS has helped build across the South: 💰 $133+ MILLION awarded 🏢 498 community-based organizations funded 🤝 1,645 grants provided 🎓 590,131 people trained 🙌🏾 651,000+ people engaged 📣 123+ MILLION reached through media campaigns And COMPASS-funded organizations have gone on to secure another $111.6 MILLION from government, foundations and corporate sources. Those aren’t just numbers. That’s infrastructure. That’s community power. That’s transformation. I was honored to witness the first public showing of Tracing Transformation at USCHA — and even more honored to talk with Demi about a story I’ve had the privilege of personally watching unfold. This is what investing in the South looks like. ❤️✊🏾 #TracingTransformation #COMPASS #USCHA2026 #AnthonyAntoine #aroundtheworldwithanthonyantoine

Still smiling about this incredible day. 💜 Let the Church Talk: Faith, Black Health & Wellness was more than an event, it was a moment of faith, healing, truth, love, and community. Thank you to everyone who showed up and said YES, our amazing panelists, speakers, choir, Major Andre Dickens, sponsors, partners, vendors, volunteers, and everyone who helped bring this vision to life. Most of all, thank You, God, for showing up in every moment. 🙏🏾 The goal was always bigger than one event. It was to start a ripple effect of conversations, healing, and change. And the ripple has begun… 🌊💜 This is only the beginning. Photo credits @ahtikal #LetTheChurchTalk #FaithBlackHealthWellness

#ThrowbackThursday On August 13, 2026, community leaders, advocates, service providers, and partners gathered for the inaugural Houston Think Tank Initiative’s Ecosystem Gathering, a purpose filled day of honest conversation, shared learning, and collective strategy. Together, we explored funding alignment, identified community priorities, and began creating a collective plan to better serve people living with HIV and those for whom HIV is possible. The gathering strengthened relationships across Houston’s HIV ecosystem and reaffirmed our shared commitment to building a more connected, equitable, and sustainable network of support. We left the room reminded that meaningful change requires all of us...and that collective care must remain at the center of how we move forward. Save the Date - November 13th - 2nd Houston Think Tank Initiative’s Ecosystem Gathering - YOUR VOICE IS VALUED! #HoustonThinkTank #CollectiveCare #HIVAdvocacy #CommunityStrategy #HoustonCommunity
