POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

So grateful (and very tired) for such an amazing fall with so many beautiful families. It always feels like a quick catch up with so many people I care about and love seeing each year. Thank you for being game to show up in a light drizzle, run through fields of glowing prickles and to authentically show up as yourselves. So lucky.

Not that anyone's keeping track, but there are at least 35 Children's Music albums eligible for the Junos this year (with more to come; I'm looking at you @seekasings, @mckhool, Raffi & @goodlovelies, @dougnaugler, @sugarwoods.music...). Let me know if I missed any.

All Canadian Children’s Music artists who have released an album since 1 September 2025 are eligible to submit for Children’s Album of the Year.

Like I said last year, in my mind, all of these albums deserve an award, so I hereby give each of you an official Kindie Beat Children's Album of the Year award (no cash value). Congratulations!

Still, I think it’s important that you also submit to the Junos. In 2024 they briefly cancelled our category in spite of the fact that Children's Music is a huge part of Canada's musical heritage. They didn’t explain the decision apart from saying that they “underwent an extensive process of reviewing all award categories, taking into consideration data such as consumption, number of submissions, and other metrics.” Thankfully, they reversed the decision within a week.

According to the Junos' website, "if the total number of submissions is less than fifteen the category may be dropped from the current year's award,” so get those submissions in and help keep our genre in the spotlight. None of us does this for the awards, but it’s still an important part of the Children’s Music landscape that five records get accolades every years side-by-side with other genres. So make sure to submit so they can’t use “number of submissions” as an excuse to give us the boot again in the future.

Deadline is 5 November.

We were so excited to welcome local Juno-nominated children’s music artist Beppie for a special morning of music and movement! 🦖🦋🐝

The children had so much fun singing along to songs about dinosaurs, butterflies, busy bumblebees, and more. There was lots of jumping, dancing, singing, and smiling throughout the morning!

Thank you, Beppie, for bringing so much music, energy, and fun to our centre! 💛🎤
