HEY, 10TH-GRADE YOU. Yeah, you.

Are you goth? Are you a theater kid? Are you a goth theater kid?

You’re about to discover THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.

You have no idea what the hell you’re watching, but somehow this movie speaks DIRECTLY TO YOUR SOUL.

As a result, you find your people and survive high school.

Well, guess what? You’re all grown up. Maybe you’ve got trick-or-treaters of your own.

AND WE’VE GOT THE BAND BACK TOGETHER.

This Halloween, we’ve assembled a supergroup of musicians for an OUTDOOR, LIVE-BAND ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW SING-ALONG!

A front-yard stage. A pedestrian-only street. A place for little monsters (and big ones, too)

And where better to raise hell than SOUTH PASADENA — where John Carpenter shot the original HALLOWEEN, where horror fans from around the world still make the pilgrimage.

Dress to kill. Sing your heart out. Find your people.

DON’T DREAM IT. BE IT. 💋

***
I’ll be singing as Dr. Frank-n-Furter.
Free, no tickets required!
Two shows: 6pm and 8:45pm

Celebrating the release of, “Making Disney Magic…from a Mermaid to Moana” by animation superstar, Ron Clements, with a bunch of animation pals. Run, don’t walk, to get a copy of this fantastic book. Many thanks for the kind invitation, @howardgreen4002 🥰

Whatta thrill to see @willieandlester in person at @labreakfastclub yesterday! So many of us grew up watching them on TV, and they’re just as hilarious as ever. ❤️🧡🩷📺 I love EggLeggs with all my heart, but she ain’t no dummy. 😁

I suppose it was destiny, seeing as today is LOST day. Was combing through some of my old hard drives looking for something else and just stumbled upon this footage. A rehearsal from the pilot of LOST. It doesn’t seem like 22 years ago.

Amazing night raising money for LA Food Bank and Share our Strength at what is scientifically and factually the weirdest dinner of the year: BEEFSTEAK.

My favorite part was hugging the boa constrictor- and the dancers in chandelier hats! Shine on, ladies!

Always a delight to see folks singing on @rviplounge’s vessel, helmed by @jonathangrubb & @bernstorm5000

Excited to go offline for the week for a project, smell ya later, internet!

Some songs feel like church. We bow down at the altar of rock and roll, which giveth and taketh.

Rose tints my world. We love you, Tim.

We’re doing a full-live-band Rocky Horror singalong on Diamond Avenue on Halloween.

By the light of the night, it’ll all seem alright

Every theatre has a story. Some are at risk of losing their next chapter.

The @vinelanddrivein, located in the City of Industry, has been part of Southern California’s moviegoing history since 1955. When it opened, @pactheatres welcomed audiences with a screening of Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea on a single screen.

By 1981, Vineland had expanded to 4 screens with room for as many as 1,700 cars, becoming a destination for generations of families, friends and moviegoers looking for a night under the stars.

At the height of the drive-in era, there were more than 4,000 drive-ins across the United States. By 2004, Vineland was the only remaining drive-in in Los Angeles County, making it a particularly important piece of our region’s moviegoing history.

Former LAHTF board member @april_wright_1999 has also documented the drive-in experience. Her latest documentary, Going Attractions: Back to the Drive-In, follows 11 drive-ins across 8 states and explores the challenges facing these beloved businesses.

Today, Vineland is on our Theatre Watchlist.

While the site continues to have a life as the Vineland Swap Meet, its moviegoing future remains uncertain. Its story is a reminder that preserving Los Angeles’ theatre history means protecting all kinds of moviegoing spaces, from grand movie palaces to drive-ins where Angelenos watched movies beneath the stars.
