“There’s something for everyone on BMLA’s 10 Year Anniversary trip to Malawi and Ethiopia!

Beyond the legal and business programming, we’re building out experiences for friends, family and non lawyers too, including spa days, cultural immersion, safaris, social events and plenty of time to experience both countries.

As a travel advisor of over 3 years and having visited nearly 70 countries, I’m excited to help bring this experience to life and can’t wait to welcome everyone to Africa!”

- Samya Abdela, our travel advisor.

Registration is open now. Link in bio.

“One of the reasons I love spending time in Africa has very little to do with work. It’s the opportunity to connect, give back and hopefully leave a place a little better than we found it.

That’s an important part of what we’re building into this trip. In Malawi, for example, we’ll spend time at a local school, meet the students and create an experience that I hope stays with them long after we leave.

And you don’t have to be a lawyer to be part of it. We’re building a trip where friends and family can experience the culture, adventure, community and fellowship right alongside us.

That, to me, is what makes traveling to Africa special.”

- Sunga Mkwezalamba, planning committee

MILWAUKEE TRAVEL HACK! ✈️ ➡️ 🚊

Waited until the last minute to book your flight to BTS and now those Milwaukee flight prices are looking at you CRAZY?! 👀👀

Fly into Chicago and get on the train!

Chicago gives you another option for getting to Milwaukee, and from downtown Chicago you can hop on the Amtrak Hiawatha and be in Milwaukee in about 90 minutes.

Yep, Chicago to Milwaukee by TRAIN. 🚊

So before you let an expensive flight convince you that you can’t make it to the Renaissance, check flights into O’Hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW), and see if the Chicago route works better for you.

Consider it your BTS travel cheat.

MILWAUKEE, WE’RE COMING!

Chapter 33 🎂

I usually have thoughtful, reflective birthday posts but this year, I’ll give it to you straight (very 33 coded of me).

I definitely thought by 33, I’d be married, with a kid or two. Despite how much I long for that, I am also so grateful for what a blessed life I’ve lived so far. To my friends, thank you for your constant support and overflowing love. 💖

I often joke with my friends that I’ve lived many lives, mainly because of my career endeavors, from practicing lawyer to account manager to currently a director of operations, travel agent and content creator.

So if I was tasked with leaving you with one piece of advice it would be…

Do it. (Not to be a cliche Nike ad but whoever came up with that was brilliant). Anytime you’re faced with an opportunity, a change that might be scary or something you’re not 100% sure about, I say do it.

✨ Take that class.
✨ Sign up for that hobby.
✨ Check out that book.
✨ Apply for that job.
✨ Accept that move.
✈️ Go on that trip. HEAVY on go on that trip. Because you’ll never be as young as you are today. And we don’t know what tomorrow will bring so I urge you to go on that trip. Solo, with your partner, with a friend, with your family, anyway you prefer.

I’ve now built a whole life around travel and 23 year old me (who went on her first trip abroad to Jamaica) would be super proud of 33 year old me, 68 countries later. Because she prioritized her happiness, peace and relationships over perfection, expectations and restrictions.

At the end of the day, the beautiful thing about life, is that it’s individuality that makes us unique. No one on earth has to walk your path and you shouldn’t need to compare yourself to anyone else either. Learning this has led to so much peace and abundance in this season. Thank you for being on this ride with me. 🙏🏽

Mia’s Final Flamingle in Cabo — wrapped 🌴🦩✨

A weekend filled with:
☀️ yacht days and whale sightings
📸 sunset photoshoots
🌮 dinners that turned into dance floors
💆🏾‍♀️ villa spa moments
🩷 pajamas and late night games
🌊 hidden beaches and ocean views
🥂 and a bachelorette itinerary that somehow balanced soft life and chaos perfectly

Planning this trip for one of my best friends reminded me that the best group travel experiences are never accidental. Every reservation, villa detail, activity, and transition shapes how the trip feels.

And when it’s done right, all you really have to do is show up and enjoy it.

Thank you Cabo for the memories, the content, and the recovery naps.

Your journey, your way ✨

CHECKOUT DAY — Mia’s Final Flamingle in Cabo 🦩🌊

Right before heading to the airport, we found one last Cabo gem:
📍 Pedregal Beach
🌴 secluded views just 5 minutes from our villa
🌊 crashing waves and dramatic cliffs
✨ peaceful enough to recover from yacht day

Sometimes the best parts of a trip aren’t even on the original itinerary — they’re the hidden spots that make the experience feel even more special.

And having the right villa location made moments like this incredibly easy to discover.

Your journey, your way.
