This past weekend, Saints OL @kyle_hergel and LSU WR @_phillyy2x supported @bestbuddiesla’s first-ever Kickball Kickoff & Fundraiser, where they helped raise over $5,000 to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities!

I’m excited to share that I will be supporting Best Buddies Louisiana and acting as a special guest at their Kickball Kickoff & Fundraiser! The event will be held on Sunday, April 27th, from 2:30-4:00pm at the LSU UREC Field Complex (Field 3), located at Gourrier Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70820.

It’s Best Buddies Month! Miss America is partnering with Best Buddies, a nonprofit dedicated to ending the isolation of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As many of you know, my personal CSI is on championing inclusion for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. My younger brother was a part of a program similar to best buddies in high school, that paired him with a typically developing student. I truly believe this programmed helped change the culture in our town around individuals with disabilities and showed me how powerful inclusion can be. I’m so proud to support this partnership and invite you to get involved with a local program near you at bestbuddies.org—everyone deserves friendship and belonging.

What are developmental disabilities? Developmental disabilities are conditions that impact a person’s physical and/or mental growth.

Join me in celebrating inclusion and friendship by recognizing Best Buddies International, a partner of the Miss America Opportunity and a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for those who have an IDD (intellectual or developmental disabilities) by providing mentorship, integrated employment opportunities, and various additional resources.
