Holy Tedledos Krabman! Playing pedal steel with Ted Krabman is always a blast, and this song is the highlight every time. Was it the perfect solo? Yes, and you can't tell me otherwise, I'd change nothing. Anyway stop reading this caption now, it's getting weird, love you. #pedalsteelguitar #pedalsteel #steelguitar #guitarsolo

This time last week our CoLAB showcase ‘New Now’ took over ACO on The Pier!

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for a completely sold-out concert celebrating nine months of intense collaboration with our incredible CoLAB composers - Jessie Leov, Robert McIntyre, Thomas Misson, and Beth Roche.

Take a look back at the night that was, snapped by the wonderful @gxbriellemxry, and catch a glimpse of the energy and fun! 📸

And if you’re an emerging Australian composer ready to workshop and premiere new chamber music with us - be sure to submit an application for our 2027 CoLAB Composer Accelerator Program before Monday 31 August!! Check the link in our bio to apply. 🎶

Still beaming from ‘New Now’ last Friday with @omegaensembleau and my incredible CoLAB cohort @jessieleovmusic @tommissonmusic & @beth.r0che !!⚡️

While it is so bittersweet that CoLAB has come to a close, it truly has been one of the most transformative, enriching experiences ❤️‍🔥

So thankful for all the multifaceted support and stoked we had a full house of so many familiar and new faces in the audience. Personally for me, it was so special to have the solastalgia-definer himself Glenn Albrecht, @linhloop & @bradtwojan (who the piece is dedicated to and flew up for it!), and of course my incredible family – all alongside so many close friends and colleagues (so many composers !!) in Sydney 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Reviews have already come in, with Limelight’s Steve Moffat very kindly heralding that “our musical future is in good hands, if these four young composers have any say in it” and reflects that [McIntyre’s Solastalgia] “opens with hazy strings, warm piano phrases and billowing clarinet runs… after a rather beautiful lushly melodic interlude, a strong rhythmic riff takes hold with increasing dissonance over the pulsing piano”

Thank you again Omega 🥹🫶🏻🥰 now to sit in this moment a little while longer x

“Our musical feature is in good hands, if these four young composers have any say in it” - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 stars from @limelightartsau

The reviews are in for Omega Ensemble’s New Now 2026 concert, performed at ACO on the Pier last Friday.

A showcase of boundless creativity and bold new directions, New Now celebrates the next wave of Australian musical voices.

This years performance featured world premiere works from Jessie Leov, Robert McIntyre, Thomas Misson and Beth Roche, in this annual concert that celebrates the music and voices shaping tomorrow. 🎻

one of the highlights of my year has just come to an end 🥹 it’s been incredibly rewarding taking part in the CoLAB program and writing a new work for @omegaensembleau, which premiered at the New Now concert in Sydney last night!

the spark for “a map to nowhere” came this past summer on a walk with my dear friend Avalon and her beautiful little boy. in the piece I wanted to explore the sensory experience of the forest though the lens of a child’s vivid imagination, building a fantastical (and sometimes surreal) sound world which zooms in on the sounds and sensations of this immersive natural environment. Bringing this to life with Omega has been a true privilege.

immense thanks to @davidrowdenclarinet and the musicians of Omega Ensemble and the whole team for believing in my music and for all the valuable support throughout this year. And so much gratitude to all our mentors @matthewhindsoncomposer @nicomuhly @chriscerrone @hollyharrison_composer - the learnings have been huge!

working with fellow composers @roberttmcintyre @beth.r0che @tommissonmusic and witnessing their pieces develop has also been SUCH a joy. many fond memories to carry forward from this experience 🙏🏼✨
