LAKE MAC HALF 🏁

24 hours before this race, I wasn’t racing.

Lately I’d fallen out of love with running a bit. Training load down by almost 2/3, no real race prep, no expectations.

Then Saturday morning the FOMO hit.

Signed up. Fuck it.

Plan was simple — roll out just over 1:20 pace, sit around 3:50/km and see what happened.

Halfway through I felt good.

So I sent it.

And sometimes this shit just writes itself.

Another PB. Almost 2 and a half minutes off my previous best.

Funny thing about running — put too much pressure on a time and it’ll run away from you.

Turn up with nothing to prove, no expectations, just race…

and somehow you run the fastest race of your life.

Again.

Maybe the secret is to stop giving a fuck about the clock and just fucking run.

Oh yeah we went sub 1:20 baby 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

October ✅

2 months now left for 2025 which means 2 marathons remain. 1 remains after this weekend.

Now, what happened in October?
• Ran my second Australian marathon.
• Consumed more ice cream this month than what I have in the past 5 years combined.
• Surpassed $16,000 for @cysticfibrosisnz
• Ran less and the body and mind are grateful for that.
• Had fun
