Pregnancy has challenged me in every possible way physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, yet the most beautiful. God truly made women powerful beyond measure to carry life within us. 📷 by @bethsternbaum

Setting up a pumping station on set because moms belong everywhere. Behind the camera, in front of it, in the glam room, or setting up lights. No matter your role, if you’re nursing, you deserve support.

Between both of my kids, I’ve been breastfeeding for almost 4 years. I’ve done a lot of pumping on set! I always joke that the privacy is for everyone else, not for me. And if I had to, I’d pump in front of everyone. But the truth is, I need that sacred time to myself. Time to recharge. Time that, if I were with my baby, would have been spent in a quiet, dark room with them. 🍼

It can feel uncomfortable to ask for time and space to pump, but doing so not only honors your needs, it helps normalize it for every woman who comes after you.

It doesn’t take much to make space for pumping. Two or three V-flats and a chair, or a few 4x4 floppies for privacy. If you ask production ahead of time, it’s easy to include it in the rental order. A little planning goes a long way in making moms feel seen and supported.
