Carved Currencies - Ledger Op3n 2021

Commissioned by @Ledger, we have produced this generative art exhibition based on the cryptocurrency market.

Eight currencies inspired us to design generative sculptures, shaped in real-time throughout the day according to market transactions and crypto values.

Throughout the entire event, 10-second videos of each sculpture were recorded, minted as NFTs, and distributed as Proof of Attendance to the guests.

We started designing this bench for @ecco by capturing the way people would naturally sit around each other. Shoulder to shoulder, back to back, legs down, legs crossed, leaning on arms etc.

We then digitally ‘inflated’ the foam shaped furniture around these forms.

The result was ergonomically designed furniture, with an emphasis on social comfort instead of individual.

For our recent @ecco project, we used a tool traditionally used in the VFX industry, the motion capture suit.

This helped us to rapidly prototype, and to accurately capture human posture and positions. By working in real time with the body in 3D space we could instantly sculpt furniture against them.

Seating elements at @friezeofficial No. 9 Cork Street. Working closely with the show’s curator @tiwa_select and exhibition sponsor @ecco, we created 'Directive Furniture’, inspired by the #CozmoSlide and designed to fill the negative space around the postures and poses of exhibition visitors.

Inspired by @ecco ‘s #CozmoSlide, we created 'Directive Furniture', a series of seating elements for The North American Pavilion exhibition @friezeofficial Starting outside, a bench of 6 modular pieces offer a range of different ways to sit, talk and relax. Inside, portable stools provide visitors the option of lingering in front of an artwork in comfort. The reception desk is transformed in the same language, morphing to fit its purpose to accommodate a laptop, a pen and a stack of flyers.

Social bench for @ecco @friezeofficial @tiwa_select - we started designing this bench by looking at the way people would naturally sit around each other in park, shoulder to shoulder, back to back, some led down and some with their legs crossed, we then ‘inflated’ the foam around these forms. The result was ergonomically designed furniture, with an emphasis on social comfort instead of individual.
