Throw Back Thursday!

Made in East London Dance - A celebration of nearly 40 years of claiming space

Our Made in East London Dance exhibition earlier this summer brought together archive treasures, personal memories, and powerful voices to tell the story of the people and relationships at the heart of East London Dance over the past four decades.

A huge thank you to the incredible students from @lcflondon_’s MA Fashion Curation & Cultural Programming programme (tagged below) for curating such a thoughtful and inspiring exhibition, and to everyone who shared their stories with us.

The creative team:

As we look towards our 40th anniversary in 2028, we're proud to celebrate a legacy built on creativity, connection, confidence, and belonging. ❤️

To my coven, my court, my partners in chaos: thank you for creating a hag do that felt like something lifted from a dark fairytale. Every detail, every surprise, every laugh until we cried—pure magic.
The wedding may still be ahead, but this chapter deserves its own place in the story.
Some weekends are remembered.
Some become myth.

‘Made in East London Dance’ June 2nd - 4th, 2026

Wolfson Studio, @lcflondon_ , East Bank

It was such a pleasure being able to work on this exhibition with @east.london.dance and my @lcf_mafccp classmates!!!

In this short exhibition a simple T-Shirt became a memory; an old photograph displayed movement, and the words of those in the East London Dance community encapsulated the beauty and joy of this organization throughout its 40yrs!! 🧡✨

Thank you to everyone who visited!! I appreciate it so much!! 🥰🧡✨

If you’ve ever heard me yap about my creative journey, you would have heard me something sweet and nice about @east.london.dance, an organisation that has really loved and poured into me. There’s an exhibition currently up telling the story of the organisation so far at @lcflondon_ (East London campus) curated by some of their lovely students (@c_johnson1913, @ale__salinero and @bettybottomdollar to name a few).

@ashtonjonesframe has also curated and developed a stunning exhibition called Home Turf in the same building that aims at humanising the experience of being a young black man in East London. To see this exhibition is to see what genuine love, care and brotherhood could lead to - the potential it has to transform career spaces and project decisions.

Oh my hamster!!! So nice to find this from circa 2017 @boomtownfairofficial.
This year we crawled out of the wasteland 🐀✨
A post-apocalyptic fever dream of minimalistic animal hutches… bodies wrapped in cling film, dripping in rubbish, existing somewhere between survival and spectacle.
We became haemorrhoid space hamster pigs.
A living nightmare.
Grotesque. Absurd. Unhinged.
…but somehow…
CUTE as fuck 💅🔥
Welcome to the world of The Red Rash Inn — where trash becomes costume, chaos becomes ritual, and the end of the world is just another excuse to get weird together.
