Ad/gifted @redbev_finland Fernand Engel Pinot noir rose 2020
Only 3 years ago I thought the only really good rose wines only came from the South of France. That was before I had visited Slovakia (see #myslovakianwinendinetour) and seen how different rose wines could be from what I learned when living in Paris over 30 years ago. Some 8 years ago when I worked in an Alsatian restaurant, an alsatian rose wine was unheard of. But now the times have changed, and I just got to taste this nice little rose from @domainefernandengel
A pale rose wine made with only Pinot noir that doesn't quite ressemble an ordinary Pinot noir. A dry wine with a pleasant acidity, cranberries and raspberries, a spicy edge to it with some herbalness.
I planned to pair it with our oven roasted annual turkey, and as it had tones of cranberries but accidentally noticed it went well with the starter as well as I mentioned a couple of pictures earlier in my feed.
Pairs well with light grilled goods, white meat like pork, turkey and chicken, fatty fish like salmon and mackerel, clams, mussels and oysters. It is also an excellent pairing to salads and vegetable dishes.
This might be my favourite rose wine for the moment.

Chablis 2019 by @laroche_wines
A french dry white wine from Bourgogne. Dry with a fresh acidity, loafs of lemon, grapefruit, appkes and and apricots and almonds on the palate.
Pairs well with fowl like chicken or turkey, is a noce wine to go with buffets, vegetarian dishes and salads not forgetting what a gorgeous match it is with crustaceans.

What furniture could be a better symbol of Paris than the classical Parisien Bistro chair! Maison Drucker is still producing the original since 1885. ❤️
