Meet the Maker, Winemaker David Natali of @bialevineyards |Thursday 10/22 | 5pm - 7pm ish | A16 Napa

Perfecting the old California classics, Robert Biale Vineyards has become a revered standard of heritage vineyard Zinfandel and Petite Sirah in the Napa Valley. From the winery’s inception, the Biale Founders have cherished the tradition of historic old vines (some dating to the 1880s!) and prize the small quantity of concentrated and intense fruit that they produce. Diligent farming, expressive terroir, and superb elegance are the winery’s hallmarks. Among the winery’s portfolio of 20 wines that Winemaker David Natali crafts, Black Chicken Zinfandel is the flagship–and has become a benchmark for the varietal.

David Natali brings extensive wine knowledge
and industry experience to the role at Biale, having worked his way up through the cellar ranks, gaining valuable experience with every position.
David went to Europe for graduate studies, attending both the l’Institut Agro Montpellier in France and the Università degli Studi di Udine in the Friuli region
of Italy.

We made some new friends at one of the most fun unique and fun winery events we’ve been to this year!

Families were welcomed to experience the falconry program at Robert Biale Vinyards at their “Second Sundays” program. Kids and adults had the opportunity to meet the birds up close and enjoy snacks and wine!

Thanks to @bialevineyards for introducing us to the falcons and owls that tend to your property.

Winner Picks the Bottle.

@journeyday showed us a little mercy and didn’t choose the Italian bottles we’ve been saving from our honeymoon. Instead, he chose a producer he hadn’t visited yet.

The 2022 @bialevineyards Beatty Ranch Zinfandel was calling his name. It paired pretty perfectly with an @innout burger, too.

We can’t wait to take Journey to Biale one day. 🍷

Overcast days and marine fog at Robert Biale Vineyards in the Oak Knoll region of Napa help the Zinfandel grapes slow down sugar accumulation and develop rich flavor and brightness. I have to say this was our favorite stop in Napa and I have to say their foggy morning Petite Sirah was my favorite wine of the trip :) Scroll for more !

🍅 Welcome back to Casa Gambs.

It’s been a while and I’m glad to be back in my own kitchen with you. My husband planted tomatoes this year, not a big harvest, but looking at them reminded me of something I learned growing a garden that I want to pass along before the weather turns on you. He calls them grumpy tomatoes. I love them.

Then we cook! My take on a pomodoro, with chorizo and pine nuts. I used four or five different varieties, which is where all that color comes from. The garlic and the pine nuts go in first because they burn fast. Once the tomatoes go in it simmers about ten minutes and the sugars come out. Then I float balsamic fig vinegar around the pan about three times. That is what makes the dish.
