They call it supportive housing. But who’s looking out for the animals living behind these doors? 💔

On Skid Row, I’ve met people who have almost nothing, but would give everything for their dogs.

Some of these animals are suffering from severe matting, painful skin conditions, and years without proper grooming.

**Just because someone is struggling doesn’t mean they don’t love their animals.** Sometimes, they just need a helping hand. ❤️

A NEIGHBOR NOTICED A DOG CRYING ALL NIGHT IN THE RAIN, IT LITERALLY SOUNDS LIKE A CAR SCREAMING. WHILE LEAVING TO WORK THIS MORNING, SHE HEARD THIS POOR BABY GASPING FOR AIR.. HE WAS LITERALLY TURNING BLUE. SHE WENT AND BANGED ON THE NEIGHBOR'S DOORS. FINALLY, SHE GOT SOME SCISSORS AND CUT THIS POOR BABY LOOSE.
AFTER 20 MINUTES, SOMEONE CAME TO THE DOOR. SHE WAS CONFRONTED ABOUT THE DOG. SHE REPLIED " I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS LIKE THAT. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT" WTF!!
SEACCA WHAT WAS CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY? THEY CAME OUT AND SPOKE WITH THE OWNERS. THEY ALSO SAID IT WAS AN ACCIDENT & THEY HAVE CAMERAS.. 😠 😡 THIS IS NOT AN ACCIDENT! UNFORTUNATELY SEACCA DID NOTHING!!!

I WAS ABLE TO REACH OUT TO THE LEAD ANIMAL CRUELTY INVESTIGATOR AT SEACCA!

PRAYING THIS BABY 🐾 🐾 GETS RESCUED.
THEY'RE ALWAYS NEGLECTING THIS DOG. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME.

I was contacted by a concerned student at the health & science university in willowbrook/compton these 8 dogs have been abandoned possibly because of a homeless encampment that the city had evacuated now these dogs have nowhere to go and no future in sight please if you are a rescue and can help please contact me i need all the help i can get i went out today to feed them give them water and slowly try to gain their trust i will be going out to them every morning until they are safe and secured please share and lets all help these beautiful dogs 🙏❤️🐾

Briar & Rue need spayed.

Dodger needs neutered.

We need 2 10X10 kennels ASAP.

We provide care, shelter , enrichment, love, and pack life for these dogs until we find a rescue to take them in, or we adopt out ourselves .

Kodak is doing great. He is still looking for his own forever home. He is very playful and loving gets along with the other dogs and cats loves people. He especially loves the water during this hot weather. He attends Training. He is vaccinated microchip neutered. If interested, please reach out to Compton Paw Rescue, or myself.

Caden has burns on all four paw pads.

He is a Great Dane. He is underweight. Not Great Dane lean, underweight. When we first learned about him, we were told he was being beaten with a metal rod. Not one person told us that. Multiple people did, separately. That is what I can tell you about his story today.

A group of brave volunteers pulled him off of skid row and he was brought directly to us.

Never in a million years did I think I would be rescuing a Great Dane off of Skid Row. It happened. And while I was down there, he was obviously not the only dog.

On Friday, our friend Joey Tuccio and Starts With One Today held a press conference in downtown LA about exactly this. Joey has been yelling about the dogs on Skid Row from the rooftops for years. Dogs found beaten and left to starve. Dogs testing positive for six different drugs. This time, every city official’s office was in the room, and so were the cameras.

We hope things are going to change this time. But the city does not seem to give a shit.

I am not saying this is not a complex issue. It is.

But it is wrong to have a dog on Skid Row. Full stop. If a child were living there in Caden’s condition, we would call it what it is. There would be a case number. Someone would answer for it. A dog cannot leave. A dog cannot tell anyone. A dog has no say in any of it. Why is it not the same?

That is how we are going to tell Caden’s story. Not just the recovery, though you will see that too. Where he came from, and why he should never have been there.

🐾 FROM SKID ROW TO “ SKID NO! “ 💖

We went to Skid Row to rescue a Great Dane. Within just minutes of arriving, I witnessed Tiger being beaten, punched, and suspended in the air to be strangled by his leash. He was so terrified, he cowered to the ground, as if he wanted to disappear 😔💔

We wouldn’t dare leave him. Because Tiger was an unexpected rescue, the safest option was the shelter—but now we need to get him OUT.

And despite everything? Tiger is a ROCKSTAR. ⭐️ 4 play sessions with stellar notes! He is gentle and dainty ✨ mixed in with some rowdy fun 🤠 Tiger is sweet, loving, and freely hands out kisses. Not one sign of aggression or reactivity 🩵

🏡 PLEASE OPEN YOUR HOME TO TIGER. FOSTER OR ADOPT.

Let’s show this Skid Row survivor what life was supposed to be like. 💖🐾

Willow is one of our Skid Row survivors 💖

THANK YOU @realtimerescue for your diligence in supporting Willow from the very day she was saved 💖 and patience in making sure she experienced only the VERY best from board and train, to transportation @needapawstrek, and all the way to her lovely foster mom @jesscerra 🙌🏼🥰

She went from a life of being chained up on Skid Row—strangled, beaten, and never knowing the safety or freedom every dog deserves—to running free through the beautiful mountains of Montana, splashing in lakes, breathing fresh mountain air, and finally getting to just be a dog. 🥹🏔️🐾

Sometimes I look at where these dogs started and where they end up, and it doesn’t even feel real. Willow will never have to wonder if she’s safe again. No more chains. No more fear. No more surviving.

Now she gets to LIVE. 💖

This is why we rescue. Every single one of them deserves the chance to find out just how beautiful life can be. 🥹🐾

SKID ROW — this was Willow’s reality for almost a year. Chained to a fence, passed between “owners,” and always on alert — never being able to rest her sweet head.

She didn’t know kind hands or a full belly. She didn’t know what playing or being a dog was. She didn’t know kindness or trust.

But, there are people and organizations fighting for animals like Willow. They work on the frontlines everyday, often risking their safety, to rescue these animals.

I am forever grateful they chose me to be part of her journey. How many times in life can you actively provide a second chance? I don’t have an answer but I’m not saying no.

Willow is looking for her forever home up here in Northwest Montana!! I’m in AWE of her temperament - no aggression to humans or animals - only joy and hope reflecting back at me. She is spayed, vaccinated and healthy — 1 yr old Husky (Shepherd/Kelpie) mix.

FOSTER NEEDED FOR CURRY!

📍 LA

Last week we rescued Curry. He was left to fend for himself for 3 days without food or water.

Curry is just 4½ months old and, like most puppies his age, he is FULL of energy! ❤️

He loves to play, he loves other dogs, and he has already been making huge improvements with his training. He’s learning quickly and showing us what a smart little guy he is!

Curry is currently crate training. He does settle, but it takes him a little bit of time and while he’s settling, he likes to voice his opinions with some barking! 😂

Because of this, we’re looking for a foster who understands that puppies take time, patience, and consistency. An apartment complex where noise complaints could be an issue would not be the best fit for Curry right now.

He needs someone who will give him the time and understanding he needs while he continues learning and growing into the amazing dog we know he will be. 🥹❤️

Curry is already making progress, he just needs the right person to help him keep going!

This is something I really want people to understand because one of the most helpful things you can do for an overworked, exhausted rescue is incredibly simple:

We get SO many comments across all of our posts. And while we appreciate every single person who comments, tags a friend, shares, or says they wish they could help comments can get lost very quickly and often times are not serious offers.

Trying to keep up with hundreds of comments while also coordinating rescues, fosters, vet care, transportation, fundraising, and everything else is overwhelming.

So if you are serious about helping, please don’t wait for us to respond to your comment.
