Happy Apple Day! 🍎🌈 Steve (aka Beardy) once told me “you really love an apple” mid-shoot, and honestly? He’s right! Over the years I’ve followed the apples at my two favourite local orchards, @oastfarmbuxted and @bignosebeardy, all the way from spring blossom to autumn harvest and even the delicious products beyond! Pink petals, gorgeous green fruit, branches heavy with red apples, crates piled high and the press in full swing... My all-time favourite apple? The dark red Spartans Phil gifted me an armful of. Gorgeous to photograph AND to eat! So today I’m raising a glass (of apple juice, obviously) to the growers, pickers and pressers who make it all happen. Want to see the other brands that get me excited like this? I’ve written all about them on my blog. Link in bio 🔗 Are you team crisp and sharp, or sweet and juicy? 🍏🍎 #AppleDay #SussexOrchards #SussexPhotographer #EastSussex #BrandPhotography

How do you know your branding is working? 🌈 When people think of you while they’re on HOLIDAY. @iancnoble, who I work with at the @uckfieldchamberofcommerce, spotted this beauty while he was away and sent it straight over to me. A day off in the North Yorkshire countryside and still his first thought was “I need to send that to Bex!” 😃 That’s the power of a memorable brand. It’s not about being everywhere all the time, it’s about being so clearly YOU that people link things back to you without even trying. My rainbows have been popping up in unexpected places for years (interdental brushes, cider bottles, rum bottles...), as well as the obvious (my website, my clothing, even my lanyards), and now in other people’s holiday snaps too! What’s the thing people always associate with you and your business? Let me know in the comments 👇🌈 Thanks for brightening my day Ian! (Scroll to see a few examples and some more of Ian’s gorgeous rainbow pics he just sent me!) #personalbranding #brandphotographersussex #sussexphotographer

Can you spot the rainbows? 🌈 Most of these are from my dining room, where I set up little food shoots just for fun and practice. A stripy bottle, a rainbow straw, a pile of pumpkins in every colour I could find (thanks to @tulleyspumpkins at @tulleysfarm). Clearly I can’t help myself when it comes to colour! I’ve slipped in a couple of client favourites too, to complete the rainbow: @bignoseandbeardy’s spirit nestled in a tree for the greens, and a pile of juicy red apples from @oastfarmbuxted. Playing like this is how I keep learning about light, styling and catching a pour at just the right moment. And every bit of it comes with me to brand shoots. If you run a café, restaurant or food business and want photos that make people stop scrolling (and feel a bit hungry), message me for a chat 🌈 #FoodPhotography #SussexFoodie #BrandPhotography #SussexBusiness #BrightSparks✨

What to wear for your brand photoshoot 🌈 Outfit planning is one of my favourite parts of the whole shoot process, and one of the things that makes the biggest difference to your final gallery. Swipe for my top 5 tips, but here’s the quick version: 🎨 Wear your brand colours. Cohesion, not matchy-matchy! 😌 Wear something you actually feel good in. Comfort and confidence are your best accessories. 💃 Think about movement. A bit of swish, flow or texture stops your photos looking stiff. 🚫 Skip the logos, unless they’re yours. Other brands date quickly, but your own workwear is worth including. 🎉 Have fun with it! Your brand shoot is the perfect chance to show your personality, so bring options. Pack the fun pieces alongside the safe ones, because the fun ones are usually the winners! 👗 How many outfits? 1 or 2 for a 30-minute Vivid shoot, and 3 or more for a 3-hour Spectrum shoot. Save this for when you’re getting ready for your shoot. And if you’re still not sure what to wear, just ask, that’s what I’m here for! 🤩 Ready to plan yours? This was Apple Day 2026 • The Upper Lodge extended family have been doing this every year since 2007, rain or shine! Babies have grown, and flown (some were on their way to university today 😢) but new faces arrive. Thank you all, we could not do it without you 🍏 🍎 We press some to go with lunch, but the rest are now safely at the farm waiting to be turned into this year’s juice. A bottle is tucked into every welcome hamper for our Tack Barn guests 🙂 In addition we have given some apples and pears to @bignosebeardy to be made into their famous cider. Watch this space..! #sussex #sussexorchard #sussexapples #sussexapplejuice #sussexcider
