POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Welcome to We Fly High: Conversations on Community, Power, & Uplift. This series is inspired by the legacy of Nolan Xavier Wells. In our first conversation, we highlight Epiphany Morrow: a community servant, TEDx speaker, Stanford-educated engineer, Hip-Hop artist, cultural community connector, savant storyteller, brother, son, and a Black man with a whole lot of wisdom.

With democracy being tested more than ever in a season where millions of Black people have been laid off, the unsolved death of Nolan Xavier Wells, and the pervasive stains of racism expanding to our algorithms and into our daily lives, it is time to fight back. If we want to be free and ultimately defeat racism, it will take a praxis centered in service to others. A work in action that evaluates how we perpetuate racism, consciously or unconsciously, regardless of the color of our skin. We have the power to show up for one another, to lift as we climb, meet each other where we’re at, and doing that alone is resistance. In this episode, we discuss Epiphany’s journey of service and showing up for community, what W.E.B. Dubois calls The Race Concept: the contradictory forces, facts, & tendencies that make up racist society (Dusk of Dawn: An Essay Toward an Autobiography of a Race Concept, 1940); what Black Power means to us, and what we would tell our 17-year-old selves.

On this National Black Men Vote Day, I ask that you use your voice, your vote, and your service to uplift others. We have the power to take care of and push each other forward.

Last month I got to represent U.S. #HipHop with the best of the best. The best team, the best artist collaborators, the best group of MC’s in a beautiful country that I can’t wait to go back to.

10 days went by like a dream…

And on October 1st, Day 10 of the Next Level Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City wrapped up in the most complete way possible.

The final leg of this journey was more than just music and visual elements, it was a space for all of us to gather and expand our minds around creative entrepreneurship. Led by Hà Lê, the main talk brought so many grounded, real-world perspectives to the table before each class Breaking, Graffiti, MC/Rap, and Beat Making, split off for deeper, genre-specific discussions on their individual paths forward.

The most emotional moment was handing out the official certificates from the U.S. Consulate General HCMC to every single student. Behind that piece of paper was a week and a half of pure effort, continuous learning, and unconditional passion.

PUSW Studios is genuinely proud to be part of this movement. Thank you to everyone who helped create a space where knowledge, culture, and deep connections could thrive. We found a shared touchpoint on our Hip Hop journey, and there’s no doubt that the path ahead for each of us will go even further!

Peace & One Love

The rooftop was on fire last night! 🔥

What an incredible wrap to the Next Level journey and the Freedom250 Celebration. Seeing Breaking, Graffiti, MC/Rap, and Beat Making jam together on one stage brought the true ethos of Hip Hop - Peace, Unity, Love & Having Fun - to life in the best way possible.

A huge shoutout to the U.S. Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City for believing in this vision and supporting the culture. Major love to our mentors, students, and everyone who showed up and showed out.

The recap photos are here, check out the highlights from the night!

[RECAP DAY 1 & 2] UNITED BY ONE BEAT! 🔥

Four days in, and we are excited to share the highlights from the opening of Next Level Workshop Vietnam!

Day 1 – Orientation & Connection
The energy was immediate as participants across four elements - Breaking, Graffiti, MC/Rap, and Beat Making - gathered from all three regions of Vietnam. From the initial orientation to the first introductions, individual artists quickly came together as a unified community.

Day 2 – Practice & Hip Hop History
Day 2 moved straight into intensive training and deep-dive sessions into Hip Hop history and culture. As participants gained deeper insights, open discussions flourished, turning practice into genuine cultural exchange.

PUSW is deeply honored to serve as the local organizing partner for this impactful and sustainable initiative.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the U.S. Consulate General Ho Chi Minh - Vietnam, Meridian International Center, and the Next Level team for creating this extraordinary opportunity for the Vietnamese Hip Hop community.

Swipe through to see the passion and dedication from our first two days!

Papi don't knowww, brudda."

the answer is no.

I am officially a three-time EMMY-NOMINEE and I couldn’t do it without some of my favorite ARKANSANS🏆✨ SO incredibly grateful for everyone who helped bring this project to life. Thank you to every artist, historian, educator, student, photographer, editor, and storyteller who trusted us with your stories and helped us celebrate the greatness of Black music in Arkansas.

And a special THANK YOU to @keshawnmoe_ for the initial idea back in January of 2025 and for co-writing this project with me. This started with a conversation and became something we both are incredibly proud of. Just two kids from Arkansas with a whole lot of passion.

Thank you to everyone who believed in the vision, contributed to it, and helped us tell it. ❤️ If you missed our Black Music Month Project, no worries! Last night’s inaugural Lantern Sessions at the @stonebreakerhotel was exactly what I needed. An intimate listening room inside the Barn at The Stonebreaker with 3 amazing Arkansas singer-songwriters, @scraprat4u, @paul.boatright, and @bigpiph as part of Arkansas Music Week. So good for the soul 🎤🎼
