My first exhibition at a gallery 🧚‍♀️✨

This collage poem was created with local flora from around northern Ontario, as well as magazines + essays created about and by the north.
It contains so many pieces from my childhood - buttercups poised underneath our chins, sucking the sweet nectar from red clover, the copper cliff dairy where my grandmother worked for over 30 years, and of course, the iconic superstack.
I tried to capture what is so unique about the north - it is bizarrely natural and industrial at the same time.
For better or worse, we have shaped and been shaped by the land.
Thank you to @theokalita and @dillydally.sudbury for allowing my piece to be a part of the Northern Square Foot Show. I’m happy to say it’s found a loving home ❤️

And keep swiping to see my cool friends’ art as well!!

A beautiful August day at the OK market @theokalita
I had so many lovely interactions. I laughed and cried with friends and people I had just met. Thank you to everyone who got a poem from me, and to all who were a part of making this day happen!!
A special thank you to my market neighbour @miri.mac.treasures for housing me and my typewriter once the rain started.
Shout out to @biidaab_art and @camcaibaiosai for the photos 🫶
