At the ATI committee meeting tomorrow City Staff are going to argue against the Grand Jury finding that the bike lanes in San Diego are disconnected. Here are just some of the gaps around the city.

New walk/bike path finally opened up after 5 years on the north side of Harbor Dr next to the
airport.

Pretty nice, except of course it stops literally halfway to Point Loma and dumps you on to the
highway.

Today marks the end of the Week without Driving a national holiday where people are encouraged to try trips that they usually use their cars for, without the vehicle.

While San Diego didn’t have a formal event marking the occasion, there are plenty of people that choose a car-free lifestyle in America’s Finest City. @bikesd collected some of their stories.

Day 7 of San Diego Climate Week and today is California Clean Air Day. 🌬️🌿

We are one day away from the finish line and San Diego is still showing up in full force. Today's lineup is as diverse and dynamic as this city itself, from a volunteer morning at Barron Creek Farm in Oceanside and a casual climate coworking session in North Park, to a deep dive into what happens to retired technology, a Council of All Beings workshop near the border, and a clean energy panel at Bivouac Adventure Lodge. This afternoon, Scripps Institution of Oceanography brings together leading scientists at Scripps Seaside Forum to break down what San Diego should expect from the incoming El Niño, a conversation every San Diegan needs to hear.

As the evening arrives, the options are everywhere. Catch a screening of The True Cost followed by an upcycle workshop downtown, try your hand at no-sew quilt art at San Diego Made Factory, join a wildlife and climate trivia night at Pure Project North Park, explore how housing policy connects to climate policy, learn about the health impacts of wildfires and extreme temperatures in Del Mar, go face to face with mountain lions — figuratively — at Mission Trails Regional Park, and close out the night at the Cali-Baja Exchange with the International Community Foundation.

And of course, tonight is the SDCW Air Summit at Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park from 5:30–8:00 PM. EV test drives, a live clean air panel, free tapas, live music, massages, and a closing performance by the Spreckels Organist. Get there the climate-friendly way, join the BikeSD group ride departing from Old Trolley Barn Park at 4:45PM or catch the RideSD bus from Replay Toys Boutique starting at 4:30PM. 🚲🚌

Seven days in and this community continues to inspire us beyond words. Thank you San Diego. 🙏

City Council is trying to enshrine free parking at Mission Bay and other beach areas. This is a
mistake, not only does it cut off an important source of much needed funds for the park which is struggling just to keep bathrooms open, the free parking is misused making it unavailable to
park goers.

SDCW's Air Summit is happening this Wednesday, October 7th from 5:30–8:00 PM at the iconic Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park, and it falls on California Clean Air Day, the one day a year dedicated to the air we all share. Clean air is not a luxury. It is a right. And tonight, San Diego comes together to fight for it.
