hello all. excited to share this work. so very soon 💦

THIS EVERYDAY HOUR
a dance and sound performance calling to familial and terrestrial histories of place, specifically midwestern grassland. the choreography is built upon and references research into deep and resilient prairie root systems of the tallgrass prairie, tectonics that have formed place, and extraordinary and quotidian experience of absence, grief. the work is performed as a duet between a sound artist and a movement artist who met on the tallgrass national prairie preserve in kansas; the work was birthed from a moment of both artists standing on midwest soil, orienting westward.

movement composition, performance: mauriah donegan kraker
sound composition, performance: @natevans__

dramaturgy @billygreeeene lighting @augusth.design costuming @leslievaglica

imagined at + made possible through fellowships at macdowell, volland and ucross foundations, residency time at the museum of loss and renewal/orkney islands + the university of wisconsin-milwaukee, lawrence university.

i’m so lucky to have shared two amazing nights with friends full of talent and audiences full of love during THE LAST WORD parts 1&2. i could not have asked for a better send off. comedians, musicians, poets & artists together as we should be.

i’m really gonna miss bringing poems and people together in my favorite place on the planet (appleton) but i’ll be back! big thank you to cristian & the konsthus ❤️

endless gratitude for the kind words and the hard work that goes into this kinda stuff. this is why we keep livin!

amazing sensation being able to look back on all the good times and good efforts… something to be thankful for about aging & growing.

i already miss looking out at my kingdom from behind the microphone.

Hi!! I was blue, had bleached brows, 3d scanned myself and my backpack, and went buzz-cut-bald with a crowd around me (surprise!). What else? Installation art, lunch, LUAROO, went outside, DID NOT GET MY SOCKS KNOCKED OFF. , enjoyed a wedding, played frisbee, had long hair, and matched my art. (Not pictured is rollerblading, radio show, the true internal feeling of belonging, gratefulness, curiosity, being a nerd all the time, etc. etc. etc. etc.) love u!! 💕
