Actor 🎬🎭 Represented by Red Door Management - @reddoormanagement

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🎬A huge thank you to the brilliant Casting Director Sonia Allam @soniaallam_casting for joining us and giving our actors such an open, insightful and refreshingly down-to-earth look at the industry. 🙌

One of the biggest takeaways? The industry can feel far more intimidating than it actually is.

Sonia broke down misconceptions, demystified the casting process and spoke with such honesty about what really happens on the other side of the casting table.

No smoke and mirrors. No industry mystique. Just a real conversation about the work, the process and the people behind it. 🎭

And what made the session particularly special was the individual advice Sonia gave each actor — Sonia took the time to engage with each actor individually, offering practical industry insight they could take forward with them.

Thank you Sonia for leaving actors more informed, more empowered and with a clearer understanding of the industry they’re building a career in.

And, thank you for your generosity and for making the room feel so open and relatable. ❤️

This is why we love getting actors and brilliant industry people in a room together.

And all over a brew and a biscuit, obviously. ☕️🍪

Thank you! ❤️

Filming a true one shot short film meant that we were at the mercy of the weather for The Robinson’s Family BBQ. Saturday was too sunny, shadows were causing a nightmare, Sunday had spells of heavy rain.

This was a hard job as a producer, knowing the right time to start a take and making sure people were happy to stand down when the time called for it.

A really good learning experience.
We managed to do 9 takes over 2 days and on the 9th take we got it.
Would I have loved a 10th go at it? Of course I would, but you’re always going to find imperfections in your work. It’s about learning from that and taking it forward to the next job

There are mornings where something quietly shifts in the room. ❤️

What a truly special morning with the wonderful Casting Associate Leila Ali.

Leila brought such kindness, generosity and insight into the room — creating a space where actors could ask questions, explore their work and, most importantly, feel seen.

There was something incredibly moving about watching a room full of actors listening, learning and of course laughing. Being brave. Being vulnerable.

Because these workshops are about connection.

They’re about growing in confidence and understanding.

They’re about remembering that, in what can sometimes feel like a very solitary profession, you are part of a community.

And what a wonderful community of actors we have. ❤️

Huge thank you to Leila for being so open, thoughtful and generous with your time and knowledge — and to every actor who walked into the room ready to work, learn and play.

We left feeling inspired, connected and very grateful.

This is exactly what we want our workshops to be.

A place to learn.
A place to be challenged.
A place to connect.
A place to belong.

And we can’t wait to welcome you into the room at the next one. 🎭✨

One last sold out show for @gmfringe before we finish our run. We can’t wait to welcome tonight’s audience!

A huge thank you to everyone who has come to see the show so far. We hope you’ve enjoyed finding out where The Boiz are now, and what might come next for them.

As we continue developing The Boys We Were, we’d love to hear your thoughts. What worked for you? What didn’t? Is there anything you’d love to see more of? Every conversation helps us shape what’s next.

And if you’ve enjoyed the show, we’d be so grateful if you could vote for us in the Greater Manchester Fringe Audience Choice Awards. The link is in our bio.

And just like that, it’s time for our final show of the Fringe.

Ahead of tonight’s performance, we have to give a shout out to the hidden member of the band - our wonderful director, Holly Ravenscroft.

Holly was the first person to come on board with the project, and has poured so much time, effort and love into bringing the story of The Boiz to the stage. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without her.

She doesn’t have Instagram, and she spends every night hiding at the back of the theatre as our biggest supporter. So this one’s for her. Not all heroes wear capes.

Love you, Hol x

AND WE’RE OPEN 🎉

Night one of @theboyswewereplay is done. I am absolutely shattered but feeling emotional and on such a high after. Thank you to everyone who has come and supported the show, or has shown support in anyway.

Most importantly - thank you to five absolute legends who have been pivotal in bringing this story to life in ways I could never have imagined when I started writing the story of The Boiz.

To @billyryandoherty @john_joyceokeeffe @trickfrees and @rpetes88 - you’re all superstars and legends. You’ve taken these words and made them feel like real people with real lives and stories. I’m in awe and so privileged to watch and learn from you all like I did tonight.

And to the hidden legend that is Holly Ravenscroft. What a brilliant talent you have for directing this story in such a distinct way. Knew it from when we met, you’re a legend in so many ways.

Anyways - time to try and sleep before we go again tomorrow. A handful of tickets left, please go grab them while you can!! I guess the band really can get back together, hey? ❤️

Thanks for the fab photos @craigeb 📸

We’re down to our last 10 tickets for Monday night - be sure to grab them while you can! And then hopefully, you’ll All Rise at the end of the night 😬

Two sold out shows. In 24 hours. We’re still pinching ourselves… 🫣

Both our Sunday and Tuesday performances are now completely sold out.

That means Monday is your final chance to catch the show, with limited tickets remaining.

We’ve spent the last year writing, rehearsing and bringing this story and characters to life, and we can’t wait to share it with audiences over the next few days ❤️

Thank you to everyone who’s bought a ticket, shared a post, or supported us along the way.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, we’d love to sell out the full run and share this story with as many people as possible, so grab your Monday tickets via the link in our bio!

Still on the fence? Don’t leave it too long. We’re down to the final few tickets for Sunday and Tuesday, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

It’s all in the script 👀🫣

(Well... mostly.)

With less than two weeks until The Boys We Were opens at the @kingssalford , rehearsals have reached that wonderfully chaotic stage.

Tickets are selling fast, so grab yours while you can. We can’t wait to share the show with you.

If you’ve already booked, let us know which night you’re joining us in the comments. We’d love to see who’s coming.
