Monday Safety meeting always brings up wind direction. While the TigerCat 6040 Carbonizer is one of the most self-contained biomass reduction technologies in the world, our safety protocols do not rely solely on the tech, but put an emphasis on human effort to ensure maximum safety and biochar production.

The effort to stage and prepare vs the effort required to stop a problem that could have been prevented is staggering. We choose staging effort every time. ✅🪵🔥🌱🌎

When I went all in on the Tigercat 6040 Carbonizer, I was told that the machine had “federal exemptions,” allowing permissions to operate in some capacity during burn bans. This year, rather than attempting to go against the local regulatory officials who authorized the restrictions during one of the hottest, driest years (ever), we paused operations (still a logical move in my opinion) …. But we did so for 3 MONTHS.

I worked with the very kind and receptive people in those positions, who saw enough evidence (and tears 😂) to provide us an exemption. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙌🏼

In order for sustainable innovation to advance, collaboration and patience must be foundational components - along with a serious amount of effort.

Like I said in the video, comparing a Carbonizer to an ACI is like comparing a bike to a car when describing a vehicle… which would you choose? 😎 #biochar #carbonizer #acı #innovativetechnology regenerativefarming

The Law of the Minimum!! The past year has been by farr the most challenging of my life, but I wouldn’t change anything… at least that’s what others say, because I would have done a LOT differently 😂.

Grateful to have this opportunity to provide sustainable solutions for the environmental problems we all are currently facing, and give others a chance to pursue their goals without acquiring some of the hard costs we’ve taken along the way. Looking forward to the next year of growth and biochar production 🌱🌎🪵🔥

@biocharcoalition worked hand in hand with the Cohasset Community for the CCA Clean up in April 2026. We always have a blast with residents there and huge thanks to Seth Mitchell for opening up the area to more Biochar integration efforts, as-well as being apart of Biochar Coaltion. We look forward to doing more. Also to Lyle W. Johnson for staying till the end, supplying the blower and helping! Love burning with Cohasset’s finest.

Hemp biochar from the whole plant, except the flowers. Commercial Cannabis farm conversion onsite from stalks to biochar Timelapse. This is some of the finest quality char for enrichment into soils. We provide Onsite conversion and enrichment services. When land owners don’t want the char we can also remove it from site #biochar #carbon #hemp #cannabis #fire

@biocharcoalition fulfills @northvalleycf CampFire 2025 Grant. We were graciously supported by their team to perform a single training session. To assist Camp Fire survivors while enriching the community. We did so by making Biochar and training 7 people on flame-cap kiln operations.

Certifications will be in the mail soon!

It was a diverse team with tribal members, government organizations, non-profits and private land owners.

We also had several fire council representatives show up from Paradise Ridge.

We were honored to showcase how we can turn slash residues into black gold! Thank you NVCF! Our success was done with that critical support!

Burning 3 flame cap kilns converting pine tree slash into biochar onsite at the old airport. This method of fuels reduction has been gaining traction around the city of Nevada City and Nevada County. #biochar #fire #fuelsreduction #firesafe #municipality #firecrew

We recently recorded a full test burn with our Ring of Fire and would love to share our process with the community.

This shows our process from start to finish, as we recycle wood slash from local standing dead beetle kill pine into biochar. This is around our tenth burn with the Ring of Fire.

Most of our biochar goes to our farm, other local farmers or regenerative projects. We will try to be at the farmers market this year with some of our biochar available for purchase!

We would love to hear what the community thinks and answer any questions!
