On 17 October, 39 students of Standards 7 and 8 of St. Bartholomew School, Chorao, visited @sunaparanta_goa to learn about the biopod. The Standard 7 students were already familiar with the project. After a walk through Chorao’s wetlands with @shamikav7 from @biopodco they participated in four writing sessions to create a story inspired by the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goal LIFE ON LAND, featuring the biopod. Having seen the structure in pictures and described it in words, the students could now experience it firsthand and understand how their story could inspire positive change in Goa’s wetlands. Sunaparanta team, as always, were there to support the work of Communicare Trust by hosting the students. Their story will feature in “Stories from Here and Beyond IV”, a book bringing together stories from Goa, Brazil and Portugal, scheduled for publication in June 2027. More names join Goa's partner list, each working a different lever of change. @makersasylum is a community of makers, dreamers, builders and problem solvers, learning by building rather than lecturing. They're bringing that energy to Goa directly: co-hosting a Climate Night Hack & BBQ with Richa Shrivastava on 2 October in Moide. @dasraindia accelerates Indian philanthropy and amplifies community voices, driving social change and equity across India through strategic partnerships. @biopodco co-designs modular ecosystems, equipping communities worldwide with the knowledge and tools to rewild, remediate and regenerate their environments. The HOME Alliance (Hands Off Mother Earth) is an inclusive alliance of civil society groups, Indigenous Peoples' Organizations, human rights, grassroots, climate justice and feminist groups and advocates, standing against false climate solutions like geoengineering. Welcome to the coalition. Goa's week kicks off Sunday, and the Bambolim Spring nature trail is already full. Post Contribution: @susty_hasti_zindagi #ClimateWeekIndia #ClimateCommons #ClimateAction #Goa Dark green background with a torn-paper white and green banner reading "Meet the Partners, Goa." Four partner logos in a row: Maker's Asylum, dasra, biopod, HOME Alliance. Two illustrated figures, one in a pink-trimmed white outfit, one seated in a wheelchair wearing a pink and yellow outfit, with "Swipe" in the corner. Climate Week India 2026 logo top left.

Science and art have never been the best of friends but today, young innovators are using tech to find exciting ways to bring them together. One of them is @harvard student @avantika_velho, a biodesigner and co-founder of @biopodco, who uses plants, fungi and living systems to help restore polluted waterways and wetlands. Recently in India for an immersive science show at @sunaparanta_goa, the young, creative and thoughtful changemaker spoke to me on how protecting nature requires both innovation and responsibility. Sharing my interview of hers for @global_indian_official. Do give it a read! https://www.globalindian.com/youth/avantika-velho-biopod-cleaner-water/
