Met a very lovely little chap today for a lunch date; and his beautiful Mumma who is somehow even more glorious than before he was born (& she was a heart breaker then!). Wonderful art bunch lunch in Ditchling cooing and topping up the caffeine 🌟👼🏻☕️ #artteachers #greenwellyditchling #reunion

ART MARKET — Meet the Artist #2: Bernadette Baker🎨

As we continue our countdown to the February Art Market, today’s artist spotlight introduces another newcomer to Victoria Pavilion Arts — Bernadette Baker.

Bernadette’s work explores the often-overlooked beauty of wild flora, particularly the dry grassland species of the South Coast. Using a combination of acrylic painting, screen printing and collage, she creates both large-scale and miniature works rich in texture and detail.
She frequently works on natural wood supports rather than canvas or paper, allowing the grain and raw surface to become an integral part of each piece — adding depth, warmth and character to the finished work.

🌿 Discover Bernadette’s work at the Art Market:

🗓 Sunday 15 February

⏰ 10am–4pm

📍 Victoria Pavilion, Victoria Pleasure Ground, Uckfield

✨ More artist spotlights coming soon — stay tuned!

Flora is always a popular topic for artists and art lovers alike - here are some of the artworks that will be showing at our Annual art exhibition on Saturday, 27th September 10am - 4pm at King Edward Hall.
We will have more than 30 artists - you will be able to chat to them about their work and also grab yourself tea and cakes supporting Headway Sussex Art who will also have artwork displayed made by their clients, all of whom have experienced brain damage.
Do come along - we'd love to see you.
Featured works are from @headwaysussexart @birdibibi @annapizzeydesigns @louise.henton.artist Jenny Saady and @rherrington2001

Closest we could get to a group picture at pack up today!

What a fantastic 4 weeks of hard work, creative conversations, shared stories, support and encouragement and lots of tea and biscuits! I am so blessed to have met you all and love this group of ever growing, ever evolving artists. So many new connections made this May. 💗🌟

Thank you to the school I work at @brighton_girls for giving us this wonderful space to exhibit in and supporting the arts in the @7dialsart area trail. It’s great to have so many from the school community and beyond visit us. Lovely to share the space with the community, talk about our super art department and our current visiting artist Lisa Creagh @lisacc and 18 other exhibitors.
It’s been a great @artistsopenhouses and hoping to be open again for winter open houses too.

In the meantime, thank you all who have helped with the promotion, weekly set up and pack up and storage of work.

Lots of trail houses still open for bank holiday Monday and they really do pull out all the stops to make everyone welcome!
I for one will be resting ☀️ (planning the next one in my head!)
