SAVE THIS for family days out this OCTOBER HALF TERM! 🎃

With the school holidays approaching, I’ve gone back through some of the places we’ve been and picked 5 that I think would be brilliant for keeping little ones entertained this half term!

There’s a really good mix from pumpkin picking and Halloween themes to farm animals, wildlife, indoor activities and lots of outdoor fun!

And even better, all 5 have special activities happening over the October half term!

So, my Top 5:

1. Rogate Pumpkin Patch, West Sussex @rogatepumpkinpatch
2. Bocketts Farm Park, Surrey @bockettsfarm
3. Finkley Down Farm, Hampshire @finkleydownfarm
4. Birdworld, Surrey @birdworlduk
5. WWT Arundel Wetland Centre, West Sussex @wwtarundel

We’ve had some brilliant days out at all 5 of these attractions, and they’re places I’d happily recommend to other families!

Just a little heads up: Some of the half term activities are only running on certain dates and additional charges may apply, so I’d always recommend checking the individual websites before you go!

Detailed reels from our visits can be found on my page!

If you’ve found this helpful, I’d really appreciate you hitting the ‘like’ and ‘save’ buttons - it really helps my small page reach other families who might find this useful too 🥰 thank you!

Fun fact: Did you know a flock of Parrots is called a Pandemonium.

I had the incredible pleasure of visiting Bird World to discuss potential carvings. I have not been before and I am gutted for my younger parent self not have been previously. This place is incredible for both the birds and the play space.

If you like natural material place spaces both outside and inside, then this place is so worth a visit. They have Marble runs and so much space to run around, not to mention the unbelievable wildlife.

Hopefully soon you'll also be able to visit to see my carvings.... I'll keep you posted.

🌿 Our home ed adventures | Birdworld

What a lovely day of learning, exploring and making memories!

We spent the day at Birdworld watching the penguins, listening to all the talks throughout the day and completing the KS1 & KS2 Schools Habitat Hunt.

We also got to see a toucan for the very first time! Such a lovely experience, and the Love & Colour enclosure was definitely our favourite! 🌈

But one of the biggest moments of the day was seeing my son conquer his fear of heights on the treetop adventure park. Such a huge achievement, and a reminder that sometimes the biggest lessons aren’t on a worksheet.

Days like this remind us that learning really can happen anywhere, and we’re so grateful for the memories we’re making along the way.

Learning, growing and making memories 🤍

'Boulders be free!' How African penguins should be living before they were a tourist attraction on a South African beach and heading toward extinction by 2035.
I wanted to show them happy diving for fish and living the dream compared to a stark beach where their numbers are dwindling and humans gather to interact and disturb their nesting grounds. These are free natural birds that sadly we will be only seeing in zoos shortly due to their dramatic decline
