Encaustic art by @birdyharrison . Encaustic art is an historic art form where wax is heated and painted with. Encaustic painting combines beeswax, pigment (color), and resin or wax (hardner).

The paint is solid at room temperature, so must be melted before it can be applied. Each layer is heated and fused before the next layer can be applied.

Birdy is a multi-talented artist that creates with encaustics, alcohol inks, and paint. Stop by the studio to see her work and see what classes she’s teaching!

💙Have you ever tried encaustic art? What questions do you have about it?
