A year ago, I heard the words: Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
I remember thinking, “I’m going to die.”

I felt lost. Scared. Broken.

But after a couple of weeks of feeling sorry for myself, something shifted.
I made a decision …I was going to fight!

That day, my mindset changed and it changed everything.

Chemotherapy wasn’t easy. Nothing about this journey was.
And it’s still hard .. my body is much weaker after everything I’ve been through.

But I truly believe my mindset carried me through the hardest days.

My life will never be the same as it was before my diagnosis…
but I believe this happened to teach me something.

I haven’t shared much about my cancer journey recently. I needed a little break from that space… but I’m back 🤍

Olibrows is not just about brows. And even when I step back, I will always continue raising awareness about cancer.

Today I want to talk about something less serious
but something nobody really talks about:
skin pigmentation as a side effect of chemotherapy.

I didn’t expect this one…

After chemo, my skin changed in ways I wasn’t prepared for.
I started noticing so many more freckles and darker patches on my face and body. At first, it worried me but I’ve learned it’s actually quite common.

Chemotherapy (and immunotherapy) can make your skin more sensitive to the sun and affect how pigment is produced. Even small amounts of sun exposure can bring out freckles or make them darker.

Right now my skin feels:
– more reactive
– more uneven in tone
– and definitely more sun-sensitive

So I’m learning to be gentle with it SPF every day(even if you sitting inside next to the window )fewer harsh products, and a lot more patience.

If you’re going through this too, you’re not alone. Our bodies are doing so much healing… and sometimes it shows on the outside.

And honestly… I’m starting to see these freckles as little marks of everything my body has been through 🤍

This year, it feels different for me …I’m not just raising awareness, I’m living it. I’m currently going through cancer treatment, and every day I see how important awareness, early detection, and support truly are.

Pink October is a reminder:

💗 To honor the survivors and the ones we’ve lost

To everyone fighting:
you are not alone!
To the survivors:
you are a beacon of hope!
And to those we’ve lost …we carry you in our hearts🙏🏼🩷

Chemo leaves me drained, sick, and exhausted in ways I never imagined.
