Day 13 of 31 days of blindness 👩🏻‍🦯
No, I don’t get out of cleaning up after my pets just because I’m blind. 😂🐶
I think there’s this assumption that because I’m blind, I must have people doing all the difficult, messy or inconvenient things for me. And honestly? That couldn’t be further from the reality of my life.
Do I sometimes have to do things differently? Absolutely. Do some tasks take me longer? You bet. Do I have to find ways to adapt everyday tasks that sighted people might not even think twice about? All the time.
But being blind doesn’t mean I get to opt out of life’s less glamorous responsibilities. The puppy still pees on the floor, the house still needs cleaning, the laundry still needs doing, and the kids still need looking after. 😂
I don’t need someone to do everything for me. I need the tools, techniques and adaptations that allow me to do things for myself.
Blindness doesn’t mean I can’t do it. It means I might have to do it differently.

#ad If you have kids or pets, you already know the floors by the door never stand a chance. 😂

Between two active kids, our dog, and the extra pets we sometimes watch for family and friends, there is constantly dirt, muddy footprints, crumbs, or some mystery spill making its way into this entryway.

Lately I’ve been using the BISSELL CrossWave® HydroSteam® Plus Wet Dry Vac to make cleanup a whole lot easier. It vacuums, washes, and uses steam to tackle everyday messes, while HydroSteam® Technology combines steam with cleaning formula to help break down dried-on, sticky messes.

I also love that I can use it on our sealed hard floors and area rugs, so I can tackle multiple messes without pulling out a bunch of different cleaning tools.

Basically, it’s made keeping up with our very lived-in house feel a little more manageable. 😂

Btw, loving my new vacuum from @bissellcan .. like actually low key obsessed. Such a great buy, I am so happy with it!!

& if you haven’t tried @eatmiltons protein crackers, hop in your car and get to Costco asap because they are my favourite snack right now. So so good.
