Healthy habits every girl should know (without the diet culture nonsense)…

#anorexiarecovering #tcarecovery #SaludMental #nutrition #wellnessjourney ss

Try to listen to your body’s signals. Don’t ignore them. Your body is actually trying to help you not harm you.

1300 is NOT enough.
You are allowed to eat enough for your body and your needs.

There are no “good” or “bad” foods.
Food has no moral value.
Eating a chocolate does not make you a bad person or less productive or less worthy.

Remember to make room for things that make you feel like YOU ❤️‍🩹

Carbs are not the problem. Your body needs them

If you’ve been taught to fear carbohydrates, you might not realise just how much they do for you beyond simply providing energy.

🧠 Your brain needs glucose to function.
💪 Carbohydrates help spare protein so it can support your muscles and other important functions.
🦠 Fibre supports digestion and your gut microbiome.
🩷 Carbohydrates also play a role in pathways involved in mood and sleep.

And if you’re recovering from an eating disorder, this matters even more: you do not need to eliminate or “earn” carbohydrates. Your body deserves consistent, adequate nourishment, including carbs.

You don’t have to feel comfortable eating a food before you’re allowed to eat it. Sometimes recovery looks like eating the thing that scares you, *while the fear is still there*. 🌱

Save this for the next time your ED tells you that carbs are something to avoid, and send it to someone who needs the reminder.

In a world that’s constantly telling you to eat less, please remember…

#edrecoveryjourney #tcarecuperación #tcarecovery #dietculturedropout #nutrition

Your heart needs about 125 to 150 calories a day to keep you alive 🫀

Constantly having no energy and feeling dizzy is not normal or okay 🪫

Being cold all the time is not normal. It is a sign your body needs more food and is struggling to do basic functions ❄️

An adult brain needs 100 to 130g of glucose per day (that’s about 3 cups of white pasta 🍝)

The feeling of being "not sick enough" is one of the most common experiences in eating disorders, especially anorexia nervosa.

No matter how much weight is lost, how many rules are followed, or how much life shrinks around the illness, the goalpost often moves again.

The truth is that eating disorders thrive on comparison. They convince people that they must get worse before they deserve help.

But support is not something you earn through suffering.

If food, weight, exercise, body image, or eating disorder thoughts are taking up space in your life, that matters.

You do not have to be at your worst to deserve recovery.

In this episode of the Recovery Companion series, Kait and Eric tackle one of the most frustrating and damaging misconceptions in eating disorder treatment → the idea that weight restoration equals recovery.

Kait shares the moment she was discharged from partial hospitalization in 2016 because insurance stopped paying, and what the years that followed actually looked like.

Together they unpack why basing discharge and treatment access on weight alone leaves so many people without the support they actually need and why that gap is a system failure, not a personal one.

They also challenge the language around recovery, what it actually means to be recovered versus recovering, and why you can struggle with any eating disorder at any size.

This is the conversation the treatment world needs to have.

Anorexia nervosa is often misunderstood as being about food, weight, or appearance.

It isn't.

It is a serious mental illness that affects the way a person thinks, feels, and experiences themselves and the world around them.

It is not a choice.
It is not a trend.
It is not simply a diet taken too far.

Behind the stereotypes are real people fighting battles that are often invisible to those around them.

Awareness matters. Understanding matters. Early support can save lives.

Nobody told me these things when I started my recovery journey.

I had to figure them out the hard way.

Through the mess, the frustration, and the moments where I questioned if I was even making any progress...

Recovery isn’t what you think it’s going to be.

It’s slower.
It’s harder.
And it challenges you in ways you would never expect it to.

AND, it’s more possible than you realize.
The ED is going to try to hold you back.
But you CAN do it!

What’s one thing you wish someone had told you earlier? Drop it below!

Nutrition myths that genuinely damage people's relationship with food.

In a world impregnated with diet culture it can be hard to see past it. It is not your fault you were taught to believe that eating is "bad" that discipline around food makes you a better person, that eating more than those around you is a moral failure.

Even though it is hard, together we can help heal the disordered thoughts and fear mongering that lie deep within our society.

You deserve to eat enough for your body and your needs, always xx
