“What was it that made you interested in the body, because you were never really one for biology at school..?” - my dad, 2026

I mean, he’s not wrong… but this question really made me consider the ways in which my interest in the moving body has grown and grown over the years.

And the answer I’ve landed on most fully is that’s it’s humans that I’m interested in. People, and the way they exist in their bodies.

From way back in my dance training, to experience of huge physical adjustments through illness, my work with @stopgapdance and with @bittersuiteuk , and later in teaching in group pilates studios, I’ve learnt more and more about the beautiful varied complexity of what it is to be a human.

I love to meet my clients where they are at in their bodies on any one day. I love to explore the visual, verbal and physical cues that give me clues as to how they are feeling and moving in their bodies. I love finding the best language to communicate a movement idea to each individual that I teach.

So yes, a body is made up of biology, but when I approach my teaching, it’s the human being, doing, moving and living that I’m considering above all else.

Tactile feedback, the art of touch.

A deep human need, a true benefit of having small, specialised movement sessions. So much information, care and guidance communicated through touch as a teaching tool.

Hands on 4eva 🧡

Hi, I’m Anna 🧡

Movement – good, juicy movement – is a fundamental part of who I am and what I do.

I believe so strongly that everyone should get to experience the joy of exploring, discovering, moving their body, regardless of limitations or expectations.

The Pilates Corner is a space to get curious about, strengthen, and move your frame, whoever you are, and however you move.

I can’t wait to welcome you 🌱

Throwback to my friend @samcastellward's 'In The Background' EP launch at @villagestaproom.

It was one of those nights where the journey was weird but once I got there it all felt okay and when I started performing I felt amazing and by the end of my set I felt even better! The audience was the best; they whooped and cheered so loudly with genuine enthusiasm that I could have grown real wings and flown with such elation!

After my set Type 2 took the stage and rocked the room with their cheeky punk tunes and finally the man of the evening took the stage Sam Castell-Ward and captivated everybody with his emotive music accompanied by his band including trumpet player @robynsrocket.

Thank you director and founder @stephanie_singer_ of @bittersuiteuk for being a fantastic host and thank you @heartnsoulart for organising the event and for all the events you do that are inclusive towards disabled folk.
Thank you to Villages for providing the space and the tasty ginger and passion fruit juice.
And thank you to those who came and loudly showed your support and also bought our merch!

Speaking of merch, I have some 'Be In Tune' merch on the way including T-shirts, stickers, cards and prints!

If you missed this gig, my next performances will be;

🎁 A short set on Thursday 19th at @exotic_blend_artshows Christmas Special held at @thelighthousebarclub from 7:30pm.

🎄 A full piano set on Monday 23rd at the Christmas Special at @gooseatfulham at 7:30pm.

See your merry faces there!
