Elevated Heel Squat

Not everyone has the correct form when it comes to squatting, whether you’re using the squat rack or smith machine. No matter how you’re doing them, proper form is the key for results and non injury. You can always elevate your heels to help with your posture as well as take the weight off of your knees. You also do not have to squat low, go as far as you can with the amount of weights you can manage.

Bending Squat (what I call it)

I was given this exercise to do after I had knee surgery last year and I call them bending squats since I am not straight up and am leaning forward into a squat. They are great for the quads and knees as it strengthens both at the same time. Make sure you use a weight you can handle that won’t affect your posture, as incorrect posture will hurt your ankles. Back straight and feet planted firmly into the ground.
