YES, this is about two Diasporans (Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo) who were called the hard r on a BAFTA STAGE!! Black Neurodivergence exists! And WE ain’t shouting slurs. This also denounces an uncomfortable, common tendency to minimize one’s harm just because said person has been abused, has Tourette’s (still socially conditioned), or “they aren’t that bad”. Our Diaspora deserves better.

Shola Aurora (@shola_aurora), now frontman of Breathe In (@breatheinband), returns. It was a great pleasure to interview him again (see link in bio), and I think you'll all be excited to see what he's been up to.

afrogoth.com | @clayrocksu isn’t waiting for permission, she’s rewriting the rules. ⚡

As founder of the @afrorockstars Collective, she’s built a home for Nigeria’s misfits, dreamers, and noise-makers. Bringing the Wacken Metal Battle to African soil and pushing the sound of Black rock back into global spotlight.

She’s more than an artist, she’s proof that the revolution has a soundtrack.

What does Clayrocksu’s rise mean for Nigeria’s rock and alt scene? 🇳🇬🖤

Comment 🇳🇬 if you’re from Nigeria

⚡ The rebirth of Nigerian rock has begun
🕯️ She’s proof rebellion still lives in Lagos
💀 It’s bigger than music it’s cultural warfare
🔮 First time hearing about @clayrocksu

Today is Purple Thursday. A day to stand in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence.

Domestic violence is not always loud. It can be emotional, financial, physical, or spiritual. It can look like control disguised as love. Silence disguised as peace. Fear disguised as protection. But love should never hurt. Not your body, not your mind, not your spirit.

If you or someone you know is in danger, you are not alone. There are safe, confidential ways to get help and begin healing.

🛠️ Resources & Tools:

• National Domestic Violence Hotline (U.S.): Call 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or text “START” to 88788. Chat online at thehotline.org.

• StrongHearts Native Helpline: 1-844-762-8483 — support for Native communities.

• Love is Respect: loveisrespect.org — helps young people recognize healthy vs. abusive relationships.

• RAINN (Sexual Assault Hotline): 1-800-656-4673 — confidential support for survivors of sexual violence.

• Local Shelters & Crisis Centers: Many provide temporary housing, legal aid, and counseling. Search “domestic violence help near me.”

Wear purple. Spread awareness. Check in on your friends. Love out loud, not in silence.

Because every survivor deserves safety, peace, and freedom and every shade of purple carries power.

Here are some Instagram pages worth following for support, awareness, community, and resources around domestic violence:

• @ndvhofficial — National Domestic Violence Hotline (U.S.)

• @nnedv — National Network to End Domestic Violence
• @nomoreorg — Global nonprofit fighting domestic violence & sexual assault

• @blackwomenrevolt — Centering Black women’s experiences with DV & healing

• @womenagainstabuse — Local advocacy & support in Philadelphia, with broader DV content

• @survivingdomesticviolencenpd — Survivors sharing stories and support

• @thenetworkaadv — Advocacy around domestic violence, including financial abuse

afrogoth.com | Before freedom had a flag, our ancestors had rootwork. Hoodoo was born from resistance—African wisdom reborn in the American South, where prayers, herbs, and spirit became tools of survival.

From whispered charms to mojo bags, this tradition isn’t superstition—it’s sacred science. It’s the art of protecting your soul in a world that tried to break it.

Swipe through and learn how Hoodoo carried our power through centuries of struggle—and still moves in our blood today.
